lakecat
I've never paid for Neocash (maybe someday I will) so I only have 400 now (from the Expellibox). Are there things I should buy now before time runs out that have high resale value, or aren't any of the NC items sellable through Shops, Trading Post, etc? If not, I guess it just comes down to is there anything I might like to have while it's still available? :guiltysmiley:
livvy
NC items are not tradeable for NP or NP items under any circumstances, sorry. :sad01_anim: It's set up to prevent establishing an exchange rate between NC and NP, to keep the cash portion of Neopets separate from the rest of it. As for what you should do with your NC, I don't use it much either, so I can't give you of a suggestion there. I'm sure others will have better advice in that area. lakecat
poptart123
NC items can not be sold, traded, auctioned, etc. To be honest, if you only earn your NC and don't pay for it, I would save it for as long as you can. If you see something you REALLY want, looks good on your pet (you can try stuff on in the NC mall to see if it looks good on your pet) and can justify spending NC on it, then go for it. But I wouldn't spend NC on an item just because it may not be there later unless I thought it was absolutely gorgeous. But yeah save it and if you do decide to eventually pay for it you will have a lot more than you would otherwise and still only buy something you want. As often as NC item retire, there are new items added that are just as pretty if not more so. Oh and also, have a wishlist of NC items just as you would NP items. There are such thing as giftboxes to gift people NC items. Perhaps some nice people in Neopia would be willing to trade you an NC item for a few NP items or something of the like. So always keep that in mind. Hope any of this helps :) lakecat

Officially, that's against Neopets policy as well. Again, setting up an exchange rate between NC and NP. You can technically do it, but you have to be very very careful about it and should really just avoid it. Rebecca~ and lakecat
Mouseykins
Also another thing you need to be aware of is that NC does expire after one year. If you don't use it within that time TNT will automatically buy something in the NC Mall for the value that has expired. You will get a neomail when it will expire and can then decide what to spend it on. Personally if you're not sure what to buy, hang onto it and decide later. lakecat
lakecat
Thanks for the replies. After I posted it, I thought it was a dumb question (I then remembered about the difference) but it looks like you all added a lot of relevant info anyway. For now I'll hold onto it, since it isn't a large amount--but I'll start looking too. :icecream:
Lamppost
If you're interested in something that will help your NP grow, you might want to consider spending the NC on Fortune Cookies. Some of the fortune cookies can help you with other areas of the site, like the Lab Ray, faerie quests, or games. You might be particularly interested in the Games cookie, which allows you to receive double (and sometimes triple) the neopoints from all games for 24 hours. To learn more about fortune cookies, you can see our guide at http://customize.thedailyneopets.com/index.php/articles/viewarticle/cookies/.
