Disappointed in the Random Contest Entries :(

Ok I need to rant a bit ...

 

This week's Random Contest was supposed to be one of the best ever ... creating your own Neopian themed musical instrument ... as a music aficionado I was looking forward to this all week ... but the results were very disappointing :(

 

2 first place winners , 4 second place winners ... and they are all horrible !!! what happened to the imagination ??? personally , if I knew how , I would have created an amazing instrument .. like a Gold Peophin Harp or something ... even most of the winning instruments don't really exist in Neopia ...

 

Where's the creativity :( I am disappoint :(

I think there are some cool ones among them, especially the xylophone. But then I didn't have any particular expectations to be disappointed about.

Hmm... not as many winners on display as usual, but it looks like some of them took a lot of effort - especially the first two!

I think this is the problem. It was a cool contest idea, but maybe people found the idea of an actual working instrument to be a little intimidating. It's also that time of year when many people are busy with school; I know how to make functional ocarinas and whistles out of clay, but don't have the time to create something like that right now.

I think the blumaroo harp is really cute! I also like the xylophone. I would of loved to see more pet shaped instruments, but I don't think the entires were bad.

I was going to do a harmonica (probably the Illusen one), but I was just too busy with college and didn't find the time. Plus I'm low on money and I would have to buy supplies to make it, I would rather not cheat and decorate one of my harmonicas haha.

 

I thought the Skylde Xylophone was adorable though!

I quite like the Xylophone- it looks amazing, and it's cute to boot. I am a bit surprised that there weren't more amazing entries- most of them look like they were done in half an hour. :/ But as others have said, it's a busy time of year, and making a working instrument is kind of intimidating!
