We've got at least 4-5 (except for the 2 most expensive) of every item circulating for lends right now and are usually able to keep up. A lot of times, delays are caused by hiccoughs in the lends, not by a lack of items. If you're wanting to lend on your own, you could always set up a petpage with the items/pets you're lending, your preferred collateral and lending rules (always state your lending rules/criteria.
