Not really sure how to explain other than to say each each set of 3 shapes has all 3 colors so when placing the patterns you are given you need to make sure you don't violate this rule. Finally when you figure out where all the patterns go if you still have some unknowns you should be able to figure them out based what colors or shapes in a set are already used. For example, you have a Red spot with unknown shape but Red shape 1 and 2 are already located so that 3 Red spot must be shape 3.
