Hello and welcome, for the fourth-to-last time, to the Daily Neopets’ coverage of the seventh annual Altador Cup! We saw some good matches yesterday and a couple that were entirely predictable.

In the Alabriss bracket, Moltara took on Terror Mountain for the first time in the tournament! Moltara was able to avoid a sweep by mustering up a draw in Make Some Noise, a game that the Chillers have been having some difficulty with this season. With the competition coming to a close, both teams will be looking to finish strong in the next few days.

Haunted Woods and Virtupets slugged it out yesterday in what proved to be an interesting match-up. Former champions Virtupets wrangled wins in both Yooyuball and Make Some Noise, while the Zombies pulled in a draw in Slushie Slinger and a win in Shootout Showdown, which the Robots have been struggling with lately. How will last year’s winners place this year? You’ll have to stay tuned to find out.

Rounding out the Alabriss Bracket was the thoroughly mismatched pairing of Meridell and Faerieland. Predictably, the second place Knights swept the last place Faeries. Meridell has proven to be a shining success story of this tournament, showing they have what it takes to not only crack but dominate the top tier. Will they clinch first? Fans will be looking for them to rally their remaining energy into these last days of competition.

Over in the Minitheus Bracket, we watched as Lost Desert took on Roo Island for the fourth time in the tournament. These two teams are fun to watch because we can always be assured a close finish. In yesterday’s meeting, the Mummies nabbed a win in Yooyuball and finagled a draw in Shootout Showdown while the Rooligans won both Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Will this be the last time these teams meet? Only time will tell.

Though Kiko Lake started this tournament strong, they seem to be losing steam. They managed a single win in Make Some Noise yesterday while Shenkuu stole the show in all the other games. However, fans of both teams were delighted in this fresh pairing, a match-up that, until yesterday, had not been seen in the tournament. Will they face each other again on the final day of competition, or will Kiko Lake have to wait until next year to exact revenge? Next time on Dateline, who covered up the plot to- wait, where was I? Ohhhh. Cup coverage. Righto.

The last match of the Minitheus bracket showcased Mystery Island and Brightvale, another predictable match, which resulted in the Natives sweeping the Wizards across the board. As Mystery Island and Meridell are currently locked in a tie for second place, the remaining days of competition will be crucial, with both teams needing to give their all in the race to the winner’s circle.

The first match of the Vaelous Bracket saw the clash of powerhouses Krawk Island and Darigan Citadel. Despite a valiant effort by the Pirates, they were unceremoniously swept by who they are calling the “skylubbers” of the Citadel. This is one of the toughest final brackets, so some hard days of competition are ahead for both teams.

Maraqua managed to hold off a sweep from current leaders Kreludor by snagging a win in Make Some Noise, a feat which must be applauded. Will Kreludor maintain the top spot, or will the pressure be too much for them to handle? We’ll know the answer to this and more in just a few short days.

The final match from yesterday had Altador against Tyrannia. Altador snagged their first win since the bracket change in Slushie Slinger, a game both teams have traditionally done well in, while Tyrannia swept up the rest. With the new tournament system, many were hoping it would give Altador some support, but the apparent randomness of the bracket selections has not been in the Sun’s favour this year. Here’s to hoping the development of a better structure is on the horizon.

Looking at today’s matches, we will be seeing Moltara, Meridell and Terror Mountain in the Alabriss Bracket taking on Haunted Woods, Virtupets and Faerieland, respectively. The Minitheus Bracket will have Shenkuu taking on Lost Desert, Brightvale against Roo Island and Mystery Island against Kiko Lake, while the Vaeolus bracket will pit Maraqua against Darigan Citadel, Krawk Island against Altador and Kreludor against Tyrannia.

Good luck to all the teams today. Remember, as we’re going into the home stretch, keep hydrated and get enough sleep to keep your energy up. We’ll all need it. This is Emily once again from the Altador Cup Headquarters at The Daily Neopets signing off on yet another beautiful day of competition of the seventh annual Altador Cup.

@_Faerie_Xweetok_: I'm sorry, I don't entirely understand what you're on about. Are you disputing our statement of the results of today's match? According to TNT's results, Haunted Woods won Shootout Showdown and drew Slushie Slinger against Virtupets, and lost Make Some Noise and Yooyuball.

Would you mind explaining what's bothering you? I'm a bit confused.

Actually, Lost Desert will be replaying Mystery Island tomorrow, so luckily LD and RI don't have to meet again. Kiko and Shenkuu will replay though, on the last day of the tournament. :)
