Lady Lyuba
This guy I'm playing against keeps using powerups against me so I can't pick up anything. I KEEP GETTING LINT BALLS! I HATE THIS GUY! I won't win ANYTHING! Really, where does he get all these Lint Balls? I'm just a beginner at Key Quest and I have no idea how to play. If one of you can help me (or if I can even play with one of you to get an idea of how it works) that would be helpful I just quit the Lint Ball guy's game. I'm sick of his hexes keeping me from getting ANY keys at all. I'm sorry but this guy seems to be playing unfairly and I don't like it.
passiflora
Hmm... it takes a lot of practice, and you start to get used to which squares to land on and which powerups to use when (e.g. using a lint ball when someone is only a square or two away from a key). Sometimes it seems like the game favours one person over another, but I guess that's the luck of the draw. :( Even if you finish those types of games, you still get all the NP you earned and a silver key! Today I played a 3 player game and both players used their powerups on me pretty much every time they picked one up, but when one of them was in a position to win, the other person didn't use any of their powerups at all to stop them (they easily could have)! So frustrating. :ohno:

Quitting is absolutely the rudest thing you can do playing Key Quest. :sad01_anim: Having power-ups played on you is simply part of the game. Key Quest is about 25% skill and 75% luck. The skill portion is playing the mini-games, knowing your way around the boards, and being able to judge the best way to use your power-ups. Everything else is based on luck, what you roll and what power-ups you get. It takes time and practice to get good at the skill portion, but even the best players will have bad games where luck is not on their side. Stick with it and you'll be fine. Lady Lyuba
I suck at this game. i thought I'd found an easy opponent to beat and even THEY beat me! Of course, I suck at ALL multiplayer games. I'm better at flash games. I hate these Mini games. I have no idea how the flower sequence works. What do you do!? I'm just way to confused. And the Novas - I kept matching, I can't BELEIVE she STILL beat me! And in the end I had NO keys.
keiwo
The mini-games on Key Quest lag a LOT for me and I hardly ever win when I play with random people in the lobby. I prefer to play with my girlfriend because we have the same level of latency with respect to the server and it makes it more fair. It must be noted that the game is indeed mostly luck, though. Make sure you play 5-key games with 2 players only to make it easier on yourself. That way, you'll always get a silver key at the very least, which means guaranteed prizes. All that being said, there is a topic dedicated solely to KeyQuest in the Neopets General Chat section. Please continue all discussion there. :-) Thanks!
