Prank calling ppl

Is it bad if me and my friends use a phonebook to prank call people? Some people go with our jokes.

Not sure why anyone would think it's a good idea nowadays when mostly everyone has caller I.D and can report you or call you back.

Actually we thought it'd be funny just for once. My friend dials the numbers and block her #. I know that if they reported us, they would get her #. I said I might not do it anymore. We have this dude named Mike we prank called. I guess he is okay with it becuz he met his gf that way and said that we are fun to talk to.

Personally I would never prank call anyone unless I knew the person and even then I probably wouldn't. I get so many annoying calls already that its to the point where I'm tempted to get the phone disconnected and just use our cell phones.

 

Tellemarketers are calling constantly and the ones I seem to get do not take no for an answer so I end up hanging up on them. I have better things to do with my time then deal with something like that.

 

If it was a prank call I would be seriously mad and I would report the person for harrassment and get their number blocked.

 

Not to be rude or mean or anything but don't you have something better to do then annoy someone just because you think it's "funny" and "entertaining"?

One time me and my friend prank called someone when we were 13 and instead of a 'hello' on the other end of the line, a cat meowed.

 

We nearly wet ourselves laughing we thought it was so funny.

 

Anyway, that was like our only time ever prank calling and the memories are happy ones, but I don't think I'd do it again. :P Bit too mature for that now.

When I was a kid, my cousins and I spent an afternoon prank calling people :P it was mildly entertaining, but I didn't like it enough to want to do it again. I thought it was kind of embarrassing actually...but I wouldn't get angry at/report a prank caller unless they wasted a lot of my time/called repeatedly.

I technically 'prank call' people. But they're always my friends. And they always know it's me. It's jsut because I'm immature.

 

I wouldn't ever call someone I don't know. I'm kind of a goody two shoes. XD

 

I just call my friends and do the Gollum voice, or speak in another language or just overall be annoying. Haven't done it for awhilet hough.

@April: Haha. I have tried people from school. They don't know who it is. & my friends know when I prank call them.

@Zooba: It is entertaining to me. Some people go with and some get mad. I would say random things to them.

@Mouseykins: Be crazy with my friends. I don't attend to prank call everyday.

I haven't prank called anyone in years! When I was in high school, my friends and I would get together, but I was never the one to participated in prank calling (I'm too anxious for that sort of thing.) Usually, we never called any of our other friends or family members, but we'd call say, a pizza place or something.

 

Sometimes, the prank calls they make on the radio are pretty funny. They usually get away with it because the person that they are calling are selling something, and they are making fun of the item or the name of the item. Often, the person being pranked doesn't even know it's happening.

 

I don't really know how one can prank call nowadays, telephone caller I.D has been available for years! But there's way around it, too. For instance, I don't pay for caller I.D on my cellphone, which happens to be my only phone and probably will be since I have no intention on getting a home phone. So you could prank me, I wouldn't know. I think you can also make calls for free using GMAIL, and your I.D won't be showing up on their phone if you use that.

 

Just don't bully people with it. I think it's borderline harassment if you make a call to a kid just to tease and bully them. Some people do it, and it's not right and not fair. I take bullying seriously. If you're going to do it with say, a good friend, or someone random like in a sale's business, fine, but don't go picking on anyone. That's not right.

 

But if people I know start talking to me, I often hang up and ruin it anyway.

i was never into prank calling but one of my cousins who i used to spend a lot of time with due to us being the same age used to absolutely THRIVE off them.. making prank calls was legitimately her favourite activity. some of my friends also used to make prank calls (off my phone, no less), but only to people we knew. they stopped after we got a call from the cops because they had been harassing one of my friend's exes lol

 

i also used to get into skype calls with people i had met online who were mostly from nz and australia and they would use some number to dial businesses in the usa in order to prank call them. it was usually pretty hilarious but i was more of an observer than a participant. they wanted to use my accent for a call once and i just couldn't bring myself to do it.

 

ok enough of the anecdotes. tl;dr: prank calling is almost always annoying. find a better way to entertain yourself.

@Shadow: I never would bully someone through prank calling. If it was my friend I'd like prank bully them, but say it was me.
