Ruka Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I'm sure what I'm about to say is completely unrelated to the post above me: Neo Girl, I can understand what 'Mimpi lebih indah, bila hidup ini bermakna...' means, because I'm a Malay too! :D Quote
Neo_Girl Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Aww, thanks. :D I only write the truth. So live your life well or you'll get nightmares. xD Quote
Sweetdang Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 TELL ME. I don't want to go all teh way to google translate. Quote
Tedhaun Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I'm sure what I'm about to say is completely unrelated to the post above me: Neo Girl, I can understand what 'Mimpi lebih indah, bila hidup ini bermakna...' means, because I'm a Malay too! :D I translated that, and I got "More beautiful dreams, when life is meaningful." It's really Indonesian when I translated it to be honest. =P Quote
Rebeka Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 We don't have trick 'r' treat-ing in my country for Halloween. Ho hum :guiltysmiley: Quote
Neo_Girl Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I translated that, and I got "More beautiful dreams, when life is meaningful." It's really Indonesian when I translated it to be honest. =P Haha, close enough, accurately it means; "Dreams are more beautiful, when this life is meaningful..." Yeah, Indonesian and Malay comes pretty close, but if you actually speak one of the languages they sound by far apart (to the point where we sometimes can barely understand each other). I know, I watched Indonesian soap operas and we actually needed subtitles. xD Quote
khaos Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Well then. I'm not celebrating Halloween because it is ungodly. :/ That's what my parents think. I am a Christian too, but I see no harm in dressing up and Trick-or-Treating. Quote
Syrin of Neopia Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Well then. I'm not celebrating Halloween because it is ungodly. :/ That's what my parents think. I am a Christian too, but I see no harm in dressing up and Trick-or-Treating. My husband's parents were the same way when he was growing up. He wouldn't even dress up tonight to hand out candy outside our church. I personally love Halloween. To be honest, trick-or-treating has its roots in Christianity. Instead of candy, people used to give sweet bread to beggars who would come to their door, as penance for their own sins. & to think we consider it "ungodly" nowadays . . . how time changes things . . . Sakabato Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I'm sure what I'm about to say is completely unrelated to the post above me: Neo Girl, I can understand what 'Mimpi lebih indah, bila hidup ini bermakna...' means, because I'm a Malay too! :D He he, unfortunately, I don't know what it means anymore because I haven't spoke in Malay in a really ... long time ago. But thanks to the translation though ... Quote
Ruka Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Aw. Is there any reason why you haven't spoken Malay in a long time? I'm curious, from a guy who's from Malaysia... Quote
Neo_Girl Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Aw. Is there any reason why you haven't spoken Malay in a long time? I'm curious, from a guy who's from Malaysia... And for a guy who's my brother I'll leave the explanation for him to answer himself. Quote
Ruka Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 And for a guy who's my brother Are you really his brother? I want to know! *is shocked and gasped* Quote
Syrin of Neopia Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 As far as I know, Neo_Girl and Haduo are sister and brother, or at least that's what I figured when they were teaming up on all of us during the eliminate Neopets game :) Quote
Ruka Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Wow. Just wow. That's really amazing to hear that Haduo and Neo Girl are siblings! Sweet! :D Quote
Neo_Girl Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Are you really his brother? I want to know! *is shocked and gasped* You're wrong, Syrin is right, I'm his sister. ^_^ Syrin, I hope you're no longer holding a grudge on us because of that game. xD *sends you chocolate chip cookies* Quote
Syrin of Neopia Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 You're wrong, Syrin is right, I'm his sister. ^_^ Syrin, I hope you're no longer holding a grudge on us because of that game. xD *sends you chocolate chip cookies* Heh-heh, no grudge here! It was just a game. Though I do wish I'd lived in the same time zone as you guys . . . might have made for a more even playing field. Besides, Kougra is a still a top Neopet in my heart, so that's what really counts :) Quote
Neo_Girl Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Yay, no hard feelings! I really am a feline lover in real life, I was just voting for the Neopets I own (and my brother agreed to help), that's all. :) What time is it right now where you live? It's 10am here. Quote
Syrin of Neopia Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Same here on voting for Neopets I own & I'm a feline lover too! It's 9pm here, so still Monday. I'm guessing it must be Tuesday already where you are! Quote
Neo_Girl Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Welcome to the Cat Lovers Club, Syrin! It's about time we've more than one member. (: And yup, it's already November 1st here. Quote
Syrin of Neopia Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Ah well happy November to ya! Heh-heh I'm glad to a member of the Cat Lover's Club but surely there are a few others, at least on TDN. I know hrtbrk had a picture with a cat for awhile . . . Quote
Neo_Girl Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I know there's more, but most of them are too lazy to send an application to join the club. xP What breed of cats do you like most, if you've any favorite? Mine is the Scottish Fold. I just adore how rounded it's entire body and face are, haha. Quote
Syrin of Neopia Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Haha, yes they are I love Siamese cats, though I haven't yet had the pleasure of owning one. I love the markings on their face and the coloring of their fur. I also just love how black cats look, of pretty much any breed :) Quote
Tedhaun Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I hope every one of you had a great Halloween where you lived, now it's November (not yet on Neopets, but that will be in another hour). It's about time I took out the Haunted, and get a turkey-themed avatar/profile picture for the Thanksgiving season. Here it is by the way: November not only means Thanksgiving, it also brings in my anticipation of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! I hope they have some good new floats this time around, I'm always looking forward to them. ^_^ Quote
Sweetdang Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 That's adorable! :D You're siblings ._. Revelation of the century! :O Quote
Sakabato Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Yep, we're both siblings, but that was revealed months ago. I hope every one of you had a great Halloween where you lived, now it's November (not yet on Neopets, but that will be in another hour). It's about time I took out the Haunted, and get a turkey-themed avatar/profile picture for the Thanksgiving season. Here it is by the way: Too bad we don't celebrate it here in Malaysia though. (or so what people say) Aw. Is there any reason why you haven't spoken Malay in a long time? I'm curious, from a guy who's from Malaysia... The reason is because I spoke English so often, I forgot how to speak Malay. ._. Quote
