-Ryan Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Cool, I wonder if... AHA! I found the translator. -nodnod- Quote
Spritzie Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Uh oh. Are you going to translate your member title into Spanish now? Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 He wouldn't. He's bluffing, and his title would be a lie because it's Spanish while we are looking. Quote
Spritzie Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Then maybe he'll make up a new member title in Spanish. Or another language. Quote
Seliphra Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 We can't have member titles in anything other than English? Quote
-Ryan Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 No, I think we can. And btw, thanks for the ideas people. xD Quote
Spritzie Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Though I couldn't find any rules about it (I do know that English should be used in posts, since this is an English language forum.), it'd probably be best not to even start something like that. Mods would have to start translating the member titles to make sure it wasn't inappropriate. I was only mentioning it as a joke, not as a suggestion. :P Quote
-Ryan Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Awww, I wanted it to say 'This member title is in English when you're not looking' in spanish. :P Quote
Spritzie Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Yeah. Unfortunately, it could potentially lead to issues. Quote
-Ryan Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Tyler, thank you. xD We should get CAV to do that in dutch... :O Nevermind, we'll discuss this when Spritzie isn't watching. :P Not that i'm planning anything, Spritzie. :P Quote
Tyler. Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 but Ingles is in it Random: I'm trying the new forum layout, and it's weird Quote
-Ryan Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Who is Ingles? :eh: I tried it, it's cool but I like the original better. Quote
Tyler. Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Ingles is English in Spanish I'm trying this one for now, seeing if I like it Quote
-Ryan Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Ohhh lol. You'd think I'd know these things considering where I live. xD Quote
Tyler. Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 California has the most Spanish speakers of any state. Arizona is in the top 5 I think though Quote
Spritzie Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 The official word is in. I discussed it with Anime. Foreign language member titles aren't allowed. It's only okay it's a common word or greeting like "Hola". Anything beyond that can't be used. Quote
Divya Bean Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Hola mis amigos! :laughingsmiley: Haha, that is how I greet my friends all the time because they all take Spanish in school. I take Latin. :D Quote
Spritzie Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 I wanted to take sign language in school, but it was never offered. My mom took Spanish, my sister took German, and I don't know what my dad took. Quote
-Ryan Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 Yes but, CA also has a bigger population. Plus, that's not counting all the illegal immigrants in AZ that speak spanish. That's atleast another 50k or so. :P Quote
Tyler. Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 there's more illegal immigrants in CA they might start a Spanish class at my school next year Quote
-Ryan Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Yes, but they all go through AZ first. :P Quote
Masaryk Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 French was mandatory for me until Grade 9. It was optional after than, so I took French in Grade 10 too. I hated my teacher, so I didn't take it in Grade 11, which I totally regret. My French is terrible now. :sad01_anim: I really feel awful about it, because I would really like to be bilingual, but I feel like I don't even have any way of improving my French, since I don't really have anyone to converse with. I can still read French fairly well, but I'm really bad at speaking it. No other languages were ever offered in my high school, but I did take one semester of Ojibwe (the local native language) in college. Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I suck at Spanish, so I wish I was in your school Tyler, except it's a middle school. We should get CAV to do that in dutch... :O I beg your pardon? Quote
Spritzie Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I tried learning Spanish, but I struggled because I'm a visual learner. I've always been interested in sign language, and would still love to learn it formally. (I taught myself in 6th grade.) Quote
