Unstream Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Ooh, religion. My favorite topic at 7 AM in the morning :P Langston Hughes actually wrote a really interesting essay called Salvation, which I've linked in case anybody wants to check it out. And I don't believe in ghosts either. They don't make sense. I mean, according to physics, since they don't have mass, they shouldn't be able to apply any force whatsoever. The theory of a poltergeist is very flawed. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I don't believe or not believe in ghosts. I'm flexible. Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 D= Er, uhh... :worried: No, what ever do you mean? Honestly though, I'm cool with any religion. I was just going off what you said. =P I see. I'm not fully athiest, but someone would most likely accuse me of it. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I'm not religious either. Just plain ole me. Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I just happen to believe in Evoution more. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Yeah, I believe in Darwin's theory of Evolution too. It seems to make more sense. Quote
Divya Bean Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 *giggles at livvy's Bible-face-smacking* I am sorta kinda religious. We go to the temple at least 3 times a month. :laughingsmiley: Quote
jumpingbeans Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I never go to a church, temple, etc. It's just not me. Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Yeah, I believe in Darwin's theory of Evolution too. It seems to make more sense. There's also more evidence of Evolution than God. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I know. All of the bones and fossils, they can't of just 'appeared'. They sloooowwwllllyyyy came, evolving all the time. Quote
Divya Bean Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I dont believe that God created everything...but who created those big blobby masses that created the Big Bang? Quote
jumpingbeans Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I don't know....I think they just appeared. Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I dont believe that God created everything...but who created those big blobby masses that created the Big Bang? According to Stephen Hawking (smartest man in the world), the universe was so powerful that it was capable of creating itself. The WHOLE UNIVERSE was only a millimeter wide. Don't you think with all that pressure it would eventually burst and spread throughout? Quote
Divya Bean Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 According to Stephen Hawking (smartest man in the world), the universe was so powerful that it was capable of creating itself. The WHOLE UNIVERSE was only a millimeter wide. Don't you think with all that pressure it would eventually burst and spread throughout? Ahhhh but who created that millimeter wide universe? Something cant just create itself. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Something can create itself! OK, so imagine(hypothetically) that a God or something creates that. What created the God? Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Ahhhh but who created that millimeter wide universe? Something cant just create itself. If God DOES exist, who created Him? Like you said, something can't create itelf. But religious people continue to push the idea that "Nothing is above God. He is all, and there was nobody before him." Quote
-Ryan Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I beleive that with science and evolution and all that, we're simply discovering HOW god made everything. :D Quote
jumpingbeans Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Or maybe we're really hypnotized droids thinking we're humans, and thinking we're discovering all that. Quote
antiaircraft Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I believe that it's really quite pointless to debate all this, as it's a conundrum that is very unlikely to be resolved satisfactorily within the lifespan of our species. I'm quite happy to leave people to their own beliefs. :) Also, since I couldn't resist: Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I beleive that with science and evolution and all that, we're simply discovering HOW god made everything. :D Well, you're religious, so that explains why you believe that. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I like that comic, Theo. Really funny. I know some jokes about the smartest man alive. Do you want to hear them? Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Stephen Hawking is the smartest man alive. So go ahead. Maybe I'll chuckle. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 This one isn't about the Stephen Hawking, but you'll get it. There were four people on an airplane: A kid, a teacher, the smartest man in the world aside from Stephen Hawking, and an old Grandma. Just then, the plane starts to crash! Without even thinking, the teacher and the smartest man take a bag of a parachute each and jump out. Now, there's only 1 parachute left, because their was only three in the beginning. The grandma says "Go on, and take hte parachute, dear. My life was ending anyway." to which the kid replies "You don't need to. The smartest man in hte world took my backpack!" Is it any good? Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Eh. It's so-so. I get it, but it's not very funny. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Yeah, that's the smartest man in the world joke. Quote
