livvy
I fear sharks, but not like "OMG SHARKS RUN AWAYYYY!!!" I guess I respect them more than I fear them. They're very streamlined creatures when you look at them and how they interact with their surroundings. =]
Spritzie
I don't like Mythbusters. They're all so cliche. I found the Shark Week ones even worse.
CAV of Gang Green
I live too far up north for there to be many sharks. But we get a couple in the harbor or beach once in a while. No big attacks though. I watch Mythbusters. My brother loves the show.
Wembly
There is a way to solve it without trial and error, but I doubt that you would know it because even I wasn't formally taught it yet. When I read trial and error I was like wait what? Did I miss a week, so I went to check and yeah, I definitely used equations. I was worried I was making it too easy so I probably messed up some where, oh well, here's to hoping.
livvy
Oh, I enjoy the Mythbusters. I think it's fascinating that they meld pyromania and a love of fun with science and intellectual curiosity. I admit that sometimes they can be a bit silly, but I've never found them to fit into any kind of cliche.
IrishLiz
I like mythbusters too. I like sciencey things though, and of course the pyromania. I don't like the blonde girl that they got to replace Carrie when she was pregnant though.
Aidensmomma
I like sharks, but I don't think I could do a whole month.
CAV of Gang Green
As of right now, I think Discovery is the best channel on TV.
Aidensmomma
I didn't like the blonde girl either!! Carrie is ten times better. The blonde seemed smug.
IrishLiz
She annoyed me. I didn't realize how much I liked Carrie until she was gone, and then I almost didn't want to watch the show anymore. :laughingsmiley:
livvy
She did! That was my exact thought about Jesse. She seemed a bit full of herself. My absolute favorite is Grant. What can I say - I love nerds. :glasses: They were doing a Star Trek myth at one point, and Grant played Spock in the scene reenactment... two of my favorite people in one. :wub_anim: (And I'd like it known that I liked Spock BEFORE he was incredibly attractive.) Spritzie
Personally, I'm a fan of the hour dramas. CBS is my favorite. All the CSIs, Numb3rs, Criminal Minds. I love crime shows.
Noog
I'm a fan of reality game shows like Real World/Road Rules Challenge, Survivor, Big Brother, Pirate Master, etc.
Spritzie
I've never been able to get into reality shows. I guess I just like fiction. Though I want to bring Survivor to my office.
Noog
Survivor: Paying americans to live in a place that other people live every day. Yes, that's the USA for you.
Spritzie
Well, I just meant the voting people off part. I don't like the rest of it.
Noog
Oh if you could vote people off of real life. ....Everyone at TDNF, tribal council is tonight. We will be permabanning one of our own. :P Of course, this week Staff was the winning tribe so you cannot vote for anyone on "Staff". IrishLiz
I like Grant too. It was funny when they tested capsaicin cures (that's the chemical that makes food spicy) and Grant couldn't handle hardly anything, poor guy. Grant had jalapenos and was dying, and in order to be comparable, Tory had Habaneros. :laughingsmiley: I like CSI: NY the best, and I like CSI too. CSI: Miami is way to corny. I only like the intros because they're funny. Sometimes the science bugs me though when it's wrong. I like some reality TV shows like Top Chef and Amazing Race. Spritzie
:laughingsmiley: Exactly. That's what I meant by coming to my office. That sounds awesome. Let's do that. :laughingsmiley:
Noog
Tsk Tsk Spritzie, it's just a joke :P Oh! Amazing Race is another GREAT one (mostly for my love of social studies) but I never know when it's on :/ I was watching reruns of like 2 straight seasons one day and it was awesome :D
Spritzie
But! But! Okay. We'll just have to come up with something else fun then...
IrishLiz
I like it because it's interesting to see all the difference places - I would love to be able to travel like that - and to see how peoples relationships get stronger (or sometimes weaker) during the race. EDIT: I feel like that sometimes toom Spritzie.
Spritzie
I have watched a little bit of Amazing Race. I think that's the best reality show, in my opinion.
Noog
One particularly rememberable Amazing Race place was India. One season they went to a temple where monkeys live in the courtyard, and they had to prepare a feast of particularly placed fruit in the middle of the monkeys without them messing it up :D I always love how they give the 1st place pair a head start but it never helps.... Spritzie
It looks like an interesting show. I might have to watch it more.
