Anisha Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 You know, I've never been rafting before. It sounds like it could be interesting. I am planning on going kayaking tonight but that is not nearly the same. Rafting is fun, but I am not much good at it. Requires quite few amount of skills. I have tried it many times, with my cousins. They seem to be expert at this. Kayaking sounds fun too. I have seen it a couple of times. But I absolutely love the Kayaks (it is a type of boat, generally used for Kayaking). Quote
Masaryk Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 I would also like to try kayaking. I've never done it before, and it looks like lots of fun. I like to go canoeing, though. Quote
CAV of Gang Green Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 I don't like the outdoors. I perfer being in the nice, unfortunately polluted city. Quote
jumpingbeans Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 It sounds cool, and a bit dangerous(on the good side) to go kayaking or rafting. It certainly would be an experience, at the least. Quote
gee_ Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 hey everyone! just created an account :D i tried kayaking once, and although it was fun, it was really tiring! Quote
Anisha Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 hey everyone! just created an account :D i tried kayaking once, and although it was fun, it was really tiring! Oh hey Gee! (nice name :laughingsmiley:) Welcome to TDN forums. Um, and, I know. Kayaking, rafting ... and all those stuffs are really tiring. I wish I was able to surf properly. It's so fun! Quote
gee_ Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 hi and thanks! :) wow, i've never tried surfing before! but it sure looks fun! Quote
Anisha Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I have tried it, and believe me, it's so hard! I mean, how can someone balance on waves with a single board. <_< My friends are expert surfers. I live in Goa, India. So yeah, we have lots of beaches here ... and awesome waves too. So surfing is quite common here. Quote
gee_ Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 haha yea i can't really imagine trying to balance on the waves! i think i'll just keep falling off the board. we can't surf in Singapore, though there's windsurfing which i haven't tried before either hahaha Quote
Anisha Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Believe me, I always keep falling when I try to balance on that board thingy. Anyways, I would rather ask my friends for help. Our coach is so strict, urg! <_< Singapore, is it? I have been to Singapore, only once. EDIT: Yay! Just hit 500 posts! :laughingsmiley: Quote
gee_ Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 hahaha you're quite lucky, since your friends are good at surfing so you can ask them to teach you instead of your coach :D and congrats on reaching 500 posts! :laughingsmiley: Quote
Anisha Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Thanks. :laughingsmiley: Reaching 500 posts was a big deal for me. But, most of my friends in TDN have double the post of mine. Quote
gee_ Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 omg! double your number of posts? thats a lot! i'll be happy to reach 150 hahaha! :P Quote
Wembly Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 So I went kayaking last night and it was not particularly the best day to do so. Paddling into the wind for 45 minutes does not particularly get you very far other than sore shoulders. And I can't surf well either. I can't get in the standing position fast enough. Quote
Anisha Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 omg! double your number of posts? thats a lot! i'll be happy to reach 150 hahaha! :P I know. When the first time I joined, I was so hyped when I reached only 50 posts. :rolleyes_anim: Oh, that was just 3 to 4 months ago. I am thinking of becoming a Fantastic Member now. That means, 2000 or above number of posts! (Or that's what I have heard ...) So I went kayaking last night and it was not particularly the best day to do so. Paddling into the wind for 45 minutes does not particularly get you very far other than sore shoulders. And I can't surf well either. I can't get in the standing position fast enough. Agreed. Your shoulders must be sore right now. Well, better luck next time. Surfing is too hard. I don't know how my friends do it so easily. But the best thing you can do in water, is swimming! :laughingsmiley: Quote
jumpingbeans Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I almost feel so unworthy of talking with people that have so many posts-note the word almost. I've never tried surfing, or kayaking, or skating, or (ten hours later) seagull, or-well, you get the point. Quote

But the best thing you can do in water, is swimming! :laughingsmiley: I'm not too sore actually, not quite good enough to enter a lifting contest  but yeah... And I'm not particularly that strong of a swimmer which is probably another reason why I'm not that good at surfing. Quote
Anisha Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I almost feel so unworthy of talking with people that have so many posts-note the word almost. Yeah, I noted the word 'almost'. You are the modest JumpingBeans. :laughingsmiley: I'm not too sore actually, not quite good enough to enter a lifting contest  but yeah... And I'm not particularly that strong of a swimmer which is probably another reason why I'm not that good at surfing. Neither am I. But hey, swimming is so fun, especially in summer. I would rather prefer swimming in a cool swimming pool than surfing on some raging ocean waves, or rafting on the strong current of rivers. Quote
Ireney Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Gmorning :) Im soooo happy today, my friend is having a birthday today at a Bowling place plus Im going to a music banquet this Wed ^^ Quote
Anisha Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Good morning? :laughingsmiley: It's evening here. 7:30pm. And yes, say happy birthday to your friend. (Even I don't know who he/she is. ) Quote
Wembly Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Cool, that sounds like fun. Personally I hate bowling though. Quote
Anisha Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Cool, that sounds like fun. Personally I hate bowling though. I tried bowling once. It was okay. I have to say, I liked it better than golf. Quote
Divya Bean Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I tried bowling once. It was okay. I have to say, I liked it better than golf. Agreed! Bowling is fun, but only with the gutters up. :D And my dad made me do golf, and I sucked. Oh well. And sorry everyone, especially CAV, that I wasnt really around for the last 3 days. I was camping then at...DORNEY PARK!! Fun! And I was with my school, which means all of my friends. Are you guys jealous or what? :laughingsmiley: Quote
Anisha Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Surely, I am jealous! :laughingsmiley: Camping is so fun! I want to go camping, now! Quote
Divya Bean Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Surely, I am jealous! :laughingsmiley: Camping is so fun! I want to go camping, now! The camping was really fun! Except it wasnt that much like camping. We stayed in cabins with real hardwood floors and walls and ceiling and bunks with matresses. All I had to do was bring my stuff and my sleeping bag. But...there was no air conditioning!!! UGHHHH! I was sweating soooo hard and I got all disgusting! But they did have running water and a toilet and hot showers...so that was good. Quote
