Why does Neopets randomly log you out of your account?

It should not have the power to do that. This has happened to me way too many times on my main when staying in one page for too long.

Now it has done this to my side, and I wasn't even in one page for very long! I heard Neopets does this to others, why?

I also can't get back into my side account, TNT provided me with the wrong password. So...how often does this happen to you? I heard that many players have had this happen to them when leaving a tab open in Habitarium.

So why does TNT do this, is it a glitch or to protect accounts from CGers?

Maybe it's your browser's settings? Do you delete your cookies/caches manually or automatically? It has never happened to me unless I'm using a different browser/computer. So I'm afraid, that's all I can suggest you. I'm sorry for the trouble you're going through. :(

Well, as far as I know, my settings on Chrome and IE are not supposed to do that.

Could this be true for all other people who keep getting this problem? I know another said she keeps getting this problem when exiting the NC mall.

A little tip: Even though you use the same computer everyday and stay logged in you can end up getting logged out. I've been logged out several times from being inactive for a while. Also if you have updates scheduled on your computer it can log you out when the computer is restarted. I wouldn't worry too much about it, unless of course you were playing a game and got logged out when you sent your score or something like that.

It is possible that you were logged out because your cookies expired (cookies cannot last forever). The same thing will happen with your myTDN account after a while, you will be logged out. So it's not an exceptional practice around the internet, and it's probably safer that way.

On the wrong password thing, I remember a while ago when I asked for a password recovery... what they sent me was shorter than what I remembered using, because one symbol did not send properly and everything after that symbol was missing. When I tried the password they sent me, it actually worked. Strange but true.

If you have troubles remembering your passwords, this is a good solution.

I had that happened to me a few times before but it was a long while ago so I don't remember what happened. But it doesn't occur to me anymore unless I manually clear my cookies.

It could also be that someone is trying to access your account maybe? I've tried accessing the same account on two different browser before, hoping I can play my flash games in a faster mode even with my habitarium on. It didn't work out because I'd just get logged out of the other account.

With the accounts of hacking that I've been hearing, it might be a good idea to renew your password or add a pin on certain functions of your account to protect it.

Not to scare you or anything, 'cause it might not be that...but I'm just paranoid...

The only time it happens is when your computer does not save or quickly deletes cookies. Another thing that could happen is that you log into your account on another browser and therefore log out on the previous browser. (this also goes for other computers). If you log out on an account which is logged in on 2 computers you'll automatically log out on both. Change your password if you only use your account on one browser/computer, because it might mean someone else is logging into your account.

Much like summertwinkle said, I've had that experience. My accounts kept on logging out and eventually one of them was taken away, which I luckily managed to get back.

Yeah, I was scared of that happening a while back with my main. I changed my PINs and my password which helped, I think, but now I'm too scared to stay in a page on neo for longer than a few minutes.

On another note, the password TNT sent me worked, and now I can feed the pets there and snuggle into those balls of fur (though my Korbat isn't a very cuddly guy), and I changed the password immediately. I am SO GLAD it worked, I was so worried!

10:45 pm - Neo logged me out of my main. :grrr: It KEEPS doing this EVEN WHEN I CHANGED MY PASSWORD!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Is it doing the same to all my sides now, too?

This is just plain stupid. REALLY TNT. Should I submit a ticket?
