Sweetdang
I finished the altador plot I think about 8 days ago. I actually started it last year, but then got stuck at Vaelous for a full hour, and then some. So I only started it again about a year later... and was still stuck at the petpet! I was stuck for an hour plus again... then got through it when I didn't think I would. Almost cried tears of joy, I tell you. Anyway, I really really really want to thank TDN for helping me get through this... actually, when altador first came up, I went to the janitor and I just KNEW there would be some story or something we had to do. But I hadn't joined TDN by then, so... I also didn't known there was such a thing as a plot! Yes, maximum noob. :P Only came to TDN a few months later to go "woah." Anyway, I have a suggestion/question. You know at the water plant, the wheels can be either + or x, right? Upright or turned. The levers can be / or \, up or down. So, is + open or closed? Is / open or closed? Is it different for everyone? Is it different for each wheel/lever? I got mine completely by just messing around, cause I didn't understand the guide... it was reallllllly early in the morning. Like 2 A.M. And I'm considering doing this again if I switch accounts, so. Help? Thank you! And thank you TDN for getting me through everything. :D
Emily
I think I remember reading something about that in a thread when I was working on the plot. They can mean open or closed, whatever you want. Just make sure you stick with it. If you decide + is open, then it means open for every pattern. If you use the guide, you're going to go through all of the pattern combinations anyway, so it doesn't matter what you assign to the symbol. Just make it constant in all your tests. I think I actually used different symbols for mine + and x. I cant remember what I used for the levers. It helped me remember because the symbols resembled the + and x on the wheels. Sweetdang
That's true. So it doesnt matter - and it's the same for all wheels/levers?
Xepha
Yes same thing. Although just like you, I always solved that part by randomly messing with the buttons and it worked :P.
MELioristic
I got lucky, the seemingly random trick worked for me! (Flood Altador, then go back and all levers and wheels are in random positions, click them all once.)
geoterza
I wish the random trick had worked for me. I tried it a few times and then had to go through it systematically to finally solve it. I was down to about 15 combinations left to try when I finally got the correct one. It took me a few hours for that part. But I still get my Altador prize everyday so it was worth it :)
Sweetdang
I just clicked and clicked. xD I didn't think I would get it, thought it would be harder than the petpet!
