Neoboards

What do you think about the neoboards? Post opinions here! ;D

I never really use the Neoboards unless in dire emergencies. I like to use Neopets fan forums like Jellyneo and TDN more due to the fact that the folks in these two forums are more civilized and not too overboard.

i don't like it because of the next points:

 

1. they think that people under 13(like me, i'm 12) can't handle the neoboards, come on, we're no babies!
   
2. you can't even say that you're mad about something, especcialy(how do you spell that *blushing*) when you're mad on TNT
   
3. sometimes the things posted there aren't nice, but not against the rules, it's really stupid, you can do some not-so-bad things, but some bad things aren't against the rules:'(
   
4. the TDN-forum is better, no silencing, no complaining because you're complaining about TNT, no stupid and EVIL/mean people, and you know the people who are on this forum in a few days, especcialy(i hate that word, stupid english language:-( ) when they're active posters:-P

I like the boards actually. But I tend to favor forum-based websites so that might be why.

 

I used to hang out on the Avatar/Siggy chat, but now I'm usually in the PC or KQ Chat.

I think the neoboards are useful for when you want to know something. It's easier when you're already on neopets.com to just go to their boards than to go to another url completely. I don't like socializing with people on those boards though because of things already mentioned.

I have started using it... I have bent lent FQD, Chokato, Meowclops, and ITTPD for free... But some of TNT's rules are ridiculous. And the AC has become a scammer stomping ground.

I like going on the Neoboards, especially the Help Chat and Newbies board. I like going to the former to see if I can help anyone, and the latter is mainly for general chat and teh lulz. :D

There are lots of trolls on the Newbies board though...I was called a baby yesterday because I reported someone. (I wasn't the baby because I had the guts to tell the OP I was reporting her. She's the baby for whinging about it. ;)) On some rare occasions, you'll run into nice and friendly people on the Newbies board, believe it or not.

I rarely ever use the Altador Cup boards during AC season because I'm terribly shy and I'd probably feel really awkward chatting with my teammates xD

 

The bottom line is, I prefer going here rather than the Neoboards. Everyone here is a heckuva lot more friendlier, not to mention civilized. :)

I mainly like posting on the Neoboards so I can show off my fonts and avatars. :laughingsmiley:

a) TNT is lying they dont have mods. they have filters. (which quite frankly, are pieces of crap. they say every word in your post isnt appropriate)

 

b ) People there arent nice

 

c) Nobody sees your post. Its off the page the moment you post it.

I have something of a love-hate relationship with the neoboards. I stalk them for information during plots/events, and they can be useful. But 75% of the time I only see TNT hate boards and begging boards, and then it gets irritating. But as long as you're kind and patient with people, no one will attack you - I actually got random gifted a Skeleton Key for being patient with someone on the boards. :D

i like reading it sometimes but I am sorry it's usually people whining about stuff and then if u post something, you can get a warning from tnt over nothing

My opinion about them is, if you don't like it- just leave or else it really is your own fault if you get upset by it. No one is making you stay to read the trash some people spew. I surely don't stay. I mean who the cares what random event you just got or what wheel prize you won? The only board that's actually useful is probably the kadoatory time board...

I do the same thing, livvy! I tend to stalk the boards and even contribute a bit during plots and events, but other than that I tend to forget they exist. I use the quest chat when I have a faerie quest and sometimes see if I can be of any help on the help chat, but that's about it.

Having actual humans handling reports and moderating would be a step in the right direction for the boards. Sugar gliders would be a step up. A petri dish full of bacteria would be a step up. You see where I'm going here. As it stands, they're only really useful for when you need to sell something quickly or for faerie quests.

Yeah, what's up with the random haters on the boards?? Anything can provoke it.

 

The only board I occasionally use is stocks. But it's basically 3 posts/replies going over + over + over:

 

1. I am a noob. How do I do this? (Read a guide. Here is a link.)

2. Look at my shop, I just restocked! (This is the stock market. You want shops.)

3. Let's gripe/celebrate how x stock is doing, and post our ports. (Aw shucks/yay hooray!)

I pretty much avoid it. When I do access it, I would go to the Sales boards to see what I can pick up.

 

I looked in the K.I. board yesterday and didn't really like it, so left.

 

I hate the way posts are often hard to read as they have so much gibberish at the top and bottom of peoples' replies. I find it awkward trying to discern an actual reply from a sig at times. :S

I only use the Neoboards for Faerie Quest help, otherwise I steer clear of them. I prefer going on here and NTWF, caus I find it's more open and less restricted.

So true! A sig at the bottom that's distinguishable from the post, I get. But people have it above and below in the same font/colors. Maybe I'm grumpy but imo it clutters the board.
