Angeló
TNT POSTED THIS ON THEIR FACEBOOK PAGE Wow! We've sure gotten quite a response to the new version of Yooyuball. Trust us, we understand that it may take some time to get used to the new version of the game. However, we are confident that with more practice, you'll get a feel for the game and the new controls. It took us a bit of time to get used to it ourselves. This is why we give you time to practice before the Altador Cup officially begins! Please be sure to read the instructions for the game while you practice. It seems like many of you are frustrated because the correct controls aren't quite apparent to you yet. Here are a few helpful tips: - If you press the space bar, you can steal the ball from your opponent. - You *can* still shoot the ball at an angle into the goal. The ball will shoot straight depending on the direction you are moving. So if you are actively moving while you let go, the ball will go in the direction you are running. - If you let go of the arrow keys and stop running before you shoot, the ball will shoot horizontally. If you want to shoot at an angle, be sure you are still moving! - Be sure to try the different formations to see which one compliments your game-playing skills the most. This will be different for each of you. - Keep your eyes open for power-ups on the field! We appreciate your feedback and your overwhelming enthusiasm and support you show for the Altador Cup every year. While we understand that big changes on the site are disconcerting for many players, we put a lot of thought and effort behind the changes to Yooyuball to make the game more dynamic, interesting, and less repetitive. It has only been out for a small while -- just give it some time :)
-Ryan
They sent another message in response to tickets saying their reading all feedback and thinking about it. I have a tiny bit of hope currently.
Cornflakes
They're not going to go back to the old one. :laughingsmiley: I'm surprised they even deigned to respond to the backlash.
-Ryan
I'm too optomistic and stubborn to beleive they won't fix their mistake.
SuperAttackPea
I don't feel like reaching all-star because they have to disagree with the majority players.
RoboHissi
I just wish they'd give us the option between playing with the keyboard or mouse. If they're doing this to make it "less repetitive" than wouldn't more choices do this better?
Azeruth
They basically said none of us understood the controls of the game. Which is not the case, I absolutely understand the new controls. But the game is terrible now. It's laggy, there's so many problems with the AI latching onto my guy and just tackling me, the auto-switching is miserable, I'm constantly pulling my goalie out by mistake because it swaps me from a nearby defender when I'm going for the ball. They never should have changed it.
Aqua111
I actually felt offended when I read that response to my ticket. It is as if TNT was saying we all are too stupid to read the instructions and understand the use of a keyboard. I wasn't submitting because I can't read instructions - I did this because on my laptop the game is a worst case scenario of slowliness and lags. And because I don't want to ruin my fingers because of a game - I already use them a lot at work, just one hour of playing and they start hurting. holladios
Yeah, I received that response in Email form after sending in a ticket. Supposedly they are working on some updates for the new YYB. However, i doubt a mouse control option will be among the updates. I am actually enjoying the new YYB, but there are several annoyances. The keeper is useless, auto-switch is very annoying, the opposing team is way too good at stealing, and each game takes me 5 minutes. Hopefully some of these issues will be addressed in the updates.
-Ryan
You guys have seen the second response right? I got that 3 times. On the third they underlined that they couldn't respond to everyone's individually and that they were working on reading. :
Mireia
I don't see why they can't keep both options... I know some new players manage pretty good with this system, but I personally hate it. I won't repeat the complaints that have been posted, but seriously, they have changed it twice, every time I get how to play, they change something... quollette
I've been using the Greasemonkey add-on on Firefox which forces YYB to use a low quality flash script. It's not perfect but it does decrease the lag by quite a bit.
Angeló
Yooyuball Update: as promised in last week's Editorial, we've tweaked some things with the new Yooyuball game based on your feedback. The cut scene timing glitch has been fixed, WASD key controls have been added (in addition to the arrow keys), and we've tweaked the AI a bit to help with the player switching and speedy opponents. We're still investigating the goalie issues, but please try out this version and send us any feedback you have! == I'm still not buying it <_<
EchoEternal
It is my sincere hope that they will give us the option to use the old (much, much better, imo) controls. That way they can still pretend they're giving us "VARIETY!" while actually allowing us to enjoy the game <_< I don't expect them to do away with this ridiculous arrow business, but one can always hope. voteforpedro333
Now that I think about it, by making Yooyuball keyboard operated, that makes all four of the AC games keyboard games. Now I don't know if this is because someone on the staff would much rather code a game that runs on keyboard movements (which makes no sense since they already had a perfectly fine mouse running YYB) or because they want some sort of outward consistency. Or maybe a keyboard company has asked them to try to get a bunch of people to ruin their keyboards from the inherent mashing. I would think there's more variety if they had differing controls. Secre
I'm glad I'm not the only one who got the underlined part on mine! But I'm sure it was after about 6 or 7 complaints! I was (am) fairly vocal even though I had a fair knowledge that they are stubborn, arrogant *insert censored word here* who really didn't care what we said. marthaclark
I've finally gotten used to it. For scoring I much prefer it, and I love the power ups. However, I can't get used to the goalie and I can't seem to finish a match without conceding 1-3 goals :(
Ice cream faerie
Guys just except it. It would be good if you could switch players on demand and make it less laggy but if it isn't broken don't fix it
Sakabato
I wish that the cutscenes didn't have to consume eight seconds in the game.
Parry
I wish TNT would do something about the auto-switch; I keep letting goals in because it isn't switching fast enough. That's about the only complaint I've got; I find this new system way better than the old (I'm averaging about 8 goals per game, and if I remember correctly, with the mouse control I used to manage around 6 per game). ice cream man
I wish that the cutscenes didn't have to consume eight seconds in the game. Yeah even when I skip them I see the timer has changed. also the auto-select is annoying but everything else is fine. :rolleyes_anim:

Pirate_neo_em
Is there anyone else out there having problems with their screen scrolling up or scrolling down everytime they use their control keys during YYB? Person335
Is there anyone else out there having problems with their screen scrolling up or scrolling down everytime they use their control keys during YYB? How do you stop that from happening? Please help... :sad02: Have you tried selecting the game window by clicking it? Since my computer has 2 screens, I'm constantly switching back and forth between them, and forget to re-select the game screen. EDIT: Did a bit of research, and found out it's only affecting Internet Explorer users. I use Google Chrome, so either switch browsers, play with the pop-up, or use the WASD keys.
