nbbug132 Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 28th January Judging by the brand new look, it looks like the Water Faerie at The Healing Springs has been busy rebuilding! Bigger image: https://images.neopets.com/faerieland/springs1.gif I noticed it when I visited the Healing Springs earlier today. Personally, I hate it. It doesn't mesh with the traditional idea of what the faeires look like, and honestly I wanna force-feed her a cheeseburger (yes I know it's a drawing, but she's disproportionately skinny and lanky). Altogether she looks awkward. >.< Is this a small taste of what the rest of Faerieland is going to look like soon? ): Quote
Spritzie Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Personally, I love the update. The art is nice and new. The colors are vivid. I also think, yes, she's thin, but Faeries are supposed to be more dainty, and I don't think they over-did it. Quote
Octopus Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Pretty nice. Her appearance changes so much and so drastically it's like she's becoming a different Faerie every time ^_^. Quote
Cornflakes Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I think she's pretty :) but you're right, she's a tad on the emaciated side. I think if her hair were smaller she wouldn't look so thin. Quote
Alice ☮ Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I don't know... I really don't like change :/ I also find her super thin, like she might just snap in two! Quote
whattawiseguy Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 She looks super thin, yet pregnant. Her belly sticks out lol. I do love the new look/art though. Lovely colors :D Quote
Cornflakes Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 She looks super thin, yet pregnant. Her belly sticks out lol. I do love the new look/art though. Lovely colors :D LOL! Who on earth would the father be?? Nothing like mindless speculation :) I vote Sloth. He's terribly magnetic. Quote

grizzlybehr Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 The colors and style work well. I am not a fan of the proportions though. Quote
dasavo Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I like the new look too. I like the colours, and it makes more sense with the state in which Faerieland is in right now (if you look at, for instance, the fountain faerie, she's still surrounded by clouds). Honestly, I didn't even notice that she was skinnier until I read these posts. Now that you guys mention it, yeah, I can definitely see the unhealthyness of it. As for the father, I think it is the pant devil. Maybe he stole some of her fat away in the process haha. Terrible joke. Quote
Masaryk Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I really wish she didn't look so thin. She looks very unhealthy for a healing faerie. Does she never leave there to eat? Maybe she needs a lunch break, like Kari, the Scratchcard Wocky, and Tombola Guy. Someone get that girl a burger! Otherwise, I love the updated background. The Healing Spring itself looks very inviting. Quote
Atta Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Don't be silly! Mermaids don't get Pregnant, They lay eggs. :O Like Fishes do. I like her new Look :D Although, I do agree she is a little thin. And... She looks like an Alien, in a few of the new images of her. Could give a Kid Nightmares, I say... On another Note, You're making me want a Cheeseburger now. Quote
srahski Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Ha, I totally agree with everyone saying she looks too thin, it was the first thing I thought. I do like the second image after you've visited the srpings a bit more too. I think the background is really good. Quote
hrtbrk Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I don't mind the redraw but they need to watch out how "svelte" they make her and other female characters. It boards trampy for me IMO. (probably improper word choices but hopefully that made sense haha) Quote
Octopus Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 They need to make a healing springs background. Quote
Ri-chan Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Not bad after a little revamp. But like the others, she is a bit too thin. The rest is colourful and so lively 0:) Quote
Divya Bean Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I like the new change! It gives a character to the Healing Springs. It matches well with the rest of the new FL too, colorful, lively, and dainty. :wub_anim: Quote
Alice ☮ Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Don't be silly! Mermaids don't get Pregnant, They lay eggs. :O Like Fishes do. LOL! I hadn't thought of that xD But it's true :P Quote
nbbug132 Posted January 28, 2011 Author Posted January 28, 2011 LOL! Who on earth would the father be?? Nothing like mindless speculation :) I vote Sloth. He's terribly magnetic. Oh mai! What a scandal. ^^ She does look a tad preggo though. I do really like the virbant colors of her, but her overall design is enough to make me dislike it as a body of work. Is it just me or is the style drastically different from anything else on the site? Perhaps Neopets has hired themselves a new artist? o: Quote
Pirate Dante Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 ...it's fingers are as long as their arms. It's not a faerie anymore. -.- Quote
CheeseStorm Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I like the art updates, but I wish they would do more item updates.... like make the original neohome items updated/ make old clothing items wearable, etc. She's pretty; I was actually just thinking that she needed to be updated the other day when I visited. Quote
somekaitlin Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I agree, she seems to look rather thin...but it looks more like she's too angular to me. Especially her shoulders, but a lot of her joints seem...pointy. Quote
Spritzie Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 It looks like they've changed their mind about the art. This is currently what they have for the store, and the screen after she's healed you: Quote

This is currently what they have for the store, and the screen after she's healed you: It's a better piece, IMO. But my bigger issue was with the larger image that is the Springs homepage. The one where her fingers look massively long and she's soooo thin. >.< Also, is it silly to think I like the cracked Faerieland better than magical-floaty-place? Quote

I still don't mind it. I think it's a huge improvement. I love the new Faerieland better as well. Quote
