Angeló
Dear TDN members :) I have finally acknowledged the fact that I am , in fact , a Neo-hoarder. I really don't have the heart to get rid of anything. I accumulate numerous junk items in my SDB, which is 55 "pages" big. Every once in a while I do an SDB "cleanup" only to find myself putting them back in, just in case they inflate by a rare strike of luck. Another example is that years ago I started a gallery with the theme of "Neopian Lands" .. until I realized this will cost me a fortune and will never be finished, so I abandoned it. At that time I had acquired quite a few expensive items which are now even more expensive, and I'm so tempted to sell them, but I keep telling myself to wait , wait and wait. When it comes to rare items, I can never part with them. So please help me ,, how to get rid of my items ?? I hoard both junk and good items and I need everything GONE!
jumpingbeans
I have two solutions for you. The first one: Give me all your items and never look at the again. ...Or, if you don't want to do that, just take a BIG breath, close your eyes, and put them in trades, and see what you get for them. Kuroida
just put them in your trades. If they don't sell you can still look at them there until they do :P
Rae
I second the option of giving all of your items to me ;) hahaha But no, put the more expensive items in your trade and see what you get for them. Then, if you get a really great offer, you might find it easier to get rid of it than simply putting it in your shop. I bet a lot of neopoints looks a lot better than a rare item when it's being thrown at you ;)
Marabot 108
Give youself a goal to strive for, I.E, a draik, and then you'll sell like no tommorow :) GOOD LUCK!
FabKiwi06
For the Junk items - throw them in trading post as well and say you want to give them to someone who is trying for the Pack Rat avvy. When I cleaned out awhile ago, I got rid of a lot that way.
Slinky
I have the same issue. I have hundreds of items in my SDB, some of them not even that expensive, but I like them so much that I don't want to get rid of them. What I've decided to do (I only decided this today) is to think realistically about what I will and wont use, put a few items that I definitely wont use in my shop, and anything else worth a decent amount of nps I will trade, hopefully for some rare stamps (something that I do actually want). Maybe making a list will help you organize it all.
Kuroida
If you want to give it to a good cause (well. Cause at least. Not really sure if it's good). Anyways. Join a collecting guild like Trash Collectors of Clean Up Neopia. Then you can trade your stuff for a good cause and ppl give you some np for the effort. Like I joined Clean Up Neopia and you'd be surprised how much np ppl give to you along with their junk.... but...technically....the way I decided to get rid of my junk ....was to just get more junk :S :P
Viridian
Been there! What I did was just go for it, take everything out and put it in my shop. When you want it back, it's too late already usually :P From the 30+ pages I had there are only 21 left :P And hey, I made a good sum of money from it :)
Kuroida
the problem with the shop though is you'll have to spend lots of money to get it big enough to store all your items...unless of course you already HAVE a huge shop (which I don't) -_-

Angeló
thanks all for your advice :) shop size doesn't matter .. when it's full just wait 'til it's sold out and re-fill it again :) perhaps tonight I'll do some mass TP sales or shop sale :)
Kuroida
well for me I find it a huge pain when I have to keep going back and restocking so I sell my stuff on the tp where it's nice and free :P
Yozora
I'm more of a food hoarder in my inventory; even though my pets are ALWAYS bloated, I won't let go of any food I have. "I might need it!" is what i say. Glad to see you found a way to fix your hoarding now. At least you can make some np off your problem. XD (All food i save is the unprofitable kind)
Mr. Sirius
I hoard my food in my Safety Deposit Box. 1,495 items (502 unique) and going strong.
Shane for Wax
I have 64 pages. I win. You lose. Sell off your stuff or put them in trades. Or give them to me :P Items: 1,904 | Qty: 2,
Angeló
I have been putting items in trades since last night .. i must have gotten rid of about 200 items .. people are so generous some one offered me 10 k on some fish that i got from the fishing game .. Weeeee :D although I'm not really asking for any money .. I ask for 10 np and I get offers of 1000 np :D
Shane for Wax
It might not be that they're generous. They may have made a typo. Make sure to neomail if you get something like that. Or they might report for scamming.

Angeló
no typos .. I'm sure .. I've done it a couple times myself .. after all 1000np is nothing these days :rolleyes_anim:

Angeló
a scam by definition is running an illegitimate trade for financial profit , such as promising an expensive item like a dubloon , codestone or a paintbrush to the one who bids the highest on your junk, begging for donations , or replacing the expensive item with a junk item that looks like it and claiming it's the real thing (I fell for this one once - I offered 100k on a baby paint brush plushie (worth 60k at the time) without paying much attention because the trade said HURRY UP! 100k LIMITED TIME DEAL ONLY GET THIS PB or something like that) .. I reported the person but TNT didn't do anything .... luckily I was able to resell the plushie and ended up losing 40k only. I'm not doing any of these things :P I'm specifically asking for the correct amount = 10 np, it's them who are overbidding :) if someone offered 10 np I would take it :) ^_^
Shane for Wax
I'm only telling you how Neopets has laid it out in the Neopian Times and the like. That's all.
Sakurabelle
I'm only telling you how Neopets has laid it out in the Neopian Times and the like. That's all. Thanks for the warning. I'll be getting rid of everything in my SDB once I have the packrat, so there will be trading in my future. :D I'll just have to make sure that what I type in the description isn't misleading.
