We apologise once more for the brevity of today's report. The Colosseum is now undergoing repairs to it's east side seating, after some crazy outlashes by multiple teams. As this was where our reporters were stationed, we've had to go into Altador's chilly outskirts and report from atop a mountain.

We're nine days into the second round, and the last quarter of the Altador Cup V's round robin tournament starts today. It is the crucial time for some teams to give their best, in order to attain higher tiers, and others to maintain their healthy postions. Those who can't, however, are resigned to more playing before they try and prepare for the finals.

While still maintaining the eleventh position, Team Shenkuu have emerged with their first sweep of this Cup. The Ninjas weren't particularly facing a subpar opponent, as Brightvale has been in the first tier, albeit momentarily, before. They managed to pull ahead in every sport, and are strong candidates for a comeback, should it arise. This will be tested today as they take on the leaders, Team Kreludor, in a very interesting matchup.

The second sweep comes from Lost Desert, who overpowered Team Moltara in both heat and strength. Leera Heggle's squad certainly needed this win to maintain their position in the standings, as they are currently third.

Darigan Citadel rose to second place today, surpassing the likes of Meridell and Lost Desert, by beating a frail Altador. This is a huge morale boost, even for a powerhouse, as they must face Maraqua today, which is a very worthy contender, and have proved themselves against large teams.

And speaking of Team Maraqua, they aren't exactly the happiest bunch today. The Moons cruised to victory in all three side games, leaving Maraqua...with a sole draw, as Yooyuball remain a stalemate. Derlyn Fonnet, captain of Kreludor, had this to say to our reporters in space:

"Well, we knew that Maraqua were a strong team. They managed to beat one of our rivals, the Marauders, just yesterday, so we needed to deliver the goods, or else suffer a descent in standings. I'm very glad we've stabilized our performances."

Haunted Woods also delivered "the goods" (or the terror) to team Kiko Lake, scaring the poor Kikos into a sweep.

The Pirates are another elated squad as they pulled all stops against Team Faerieland. This didn't affect Faerieland's standings (as the teams around them were swept, too), but Krawk Island certainly pulled ahead, lying in sixth place, and even closer to the ever hopeful Group One.

It is pretty certain that Team Mystery Island won't share their opinions, as Terror Mountain avalanched a very surprising, but nonetheless deserved, victory in Yooyuball, against a squad that has proved their strength in this sport on numerous occasions. As a consequence, they lost two side games (Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise) to the Natives, but retaining their Shootout Showdown sport, now ascending to a 26-0-0 clean streak, the best ever, in any Altador Cup tournament! A huge kudos to the Chillers!

Meridell might feel they could have done a bit better today, but the most important is that Yooyuball was won. Team Tyrannia, on the other hand, took their usual: slushies (Slushie Slinger), with a pinch of goals (Shootout Showdown), and a draw in making noise. With this result, the Knights concede their former position and drop to 4th, but still quite secure in the top group.

The last match we had was against Team Virtupets and Team Roo Island. The Roos managed to win all side games, but another space team will go home happy as they were able to find a win in Yooyuball, against a very decent team.

Matches to watch today are the one stated above, as well as Mystery Island, who take on Meridell; Haunted Woods, facing Terror Mountain, and Krawk Island vs Tyrannia!

As usual, good luck to all teams today! This is HBK, reporting from Altador's summit, signing off.

Okay, I think we're actually in a good position, we still have FL, TY, and TM and while we'll probably get thrashed in the sidegames we can hold a finals spot with the YYB wins from those, and we've already shown in the first round we can beat LD and KD in YYB.

So I guess DC and MQ isn't much to watch... huh? :P

And I can't stand TNT what the heck were they thinking with this...

Also to Divya. We really tried playing, but all of us were exhausted from playing LD (as we did make an all time record YYB score for Maraqua) and TNT just keeps making it worse...

I don't see how anyone can get cocky when they are facing the first place team :P

Course we kept playing! I am just saying that after beating LD, I would think that a bunch of people would have stopped playing, thinking that we would easily be able to beat KD after beating LD! I know I slowed down a little :* ... Guess I shouldnt have. :sad02:

Darn alarm didn't wake me again! I could have got in 50 more games to beat KD! I think I was in deep sleep as I heard the 4am one, but then the internet failed. TNT do hate us and we can't see the schedules before-hand as they hand pick them cruelly. Then want us to get knocked down so bad that we can't possible get up to Top 4. Let's prove them wrong! I just really NEED a two/one day break. I need to revise for my test on Thursday but this schedule doesn't make me :(

Oh, well I definitely played more against KD than LD... The board was slacking off completely and knew that I had to do something about it...

I really hope we get to take on VP or MD tomorrow. I wanna get all these powerehouses out of the way and get some clean sweeps plus a few YYB wins at the cost of a few sidegame losses.

Pull up yer pants and stop complaining, people. All of the teams have had horrible schedules (that is, as long as you don't underestimate anyone, then you play just as hard for everyone) at one time or another. LD has had two weeks of complete uncertainty at this point, losing with teams we won the first time around and vice versa. You might think getting everything out of the way is nice, but if you start slackin' then you might get the rug pulled from under ya anyway.

Congrats to the Swiffer Sweepers today!
