Hello everyone! We started off the year with surprises and we end it (the first round, I mean) with even more shockers!

It's late here in Faerieland as the lights dim down and an eerie but peaceful silence settles around the City. I'm here to talk about the late, but very surprising Altador Cup results of June 11th. So, without further ado:

"Germany 4-0 Austra....oh wait, wrong result sheet, sorry! *switches* First up, the amazing effort displayed by Team Virtupets, as they engineered a sweeping side game victory against the tough Lost Desert Marauders, who only managed to take Yooyuball. Leera Heggle, captain of Lost Desert, responded earlier: "To be honest, I wasn't expecting us to win Yooyuball, but it actually went in our favor, and I'll take a victory in Yooyuball anyday." Wise words, perhaps, but the truth is that Virtupets are to be praised with their excellent performance.

Faerieland, will also have a reason to celebrate. They managed to near sweep the Kikos, a feat that shocked both teams: the Faeries, for their hard work that paid off, and Kiko Lake, amazed by the result turnout. Certainly this is a morale boost for Faerieland, who manage to pass Altador, the home team, and finish the first round in 16th. Kiko Lake, looking back, are still in 15th, so this isn't a tremendous blow to their standings, albeit their morale must have taken a hit.

The Darigan Minions are now rejoicing malevolently as their leader, Lord Kass, just announced that they had full swept Shenkuu, considered one of their major rivals. The Ninjas weren't able to stop an array of Yooyus, and their side games also were overpowered by many crazy slingers, roaring (vuvuzela, I bet!) fans, and shootout madness. This certainly complicates things for Shenkuu, who drop a position (to 10th), finding themselves locked firmly into the 3rd tier.

<img src="https://images.neopets.com/altador/altadorcup/head_shots/hauntedwoods_3.gif" style="float:right;margin:5px;">Maraqua will also be a surprised party, as their team failed to beat the evil plans of the Zombies, who conjured victories in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. A flood drenched the HW goalie, allowing the Mermaids to a victory in SOSD, but it all remained tied in Make Some Noise. Haunted Woods now rise to 9th, and look more and more capable to cause more upsets.

Meridell will be the happier side here, as they managed to defeat the Natives in everything but Yooyuball. We'm getting reports of big festivities in Meridell as the Knights end the first round in 4th, an accomplishment indeed. As for the Natives, we didn't manage to receive any feedback from their side.

Altador will be distraught with their loss, as Tyrannia leap forward, conquering even a victory in Yooyuball. Moltara, on the other hand, will be quite pleased they managed to tie with Roo Island, a considerable force, in MSN, avoiding the sweep. Terror Mountain also surprised with 3 wins against the Pirates, leaving only Yooyuball to them, and Kreludor took also 3 wins in everything but Slushie Slinger against the Wizards.

Today, we look toward some great and important matches: Krawk Island take on Lost Desert in what should be another test for the Marauders; Altador called an immediate rematch in order to seek revenge (or you know...some wins) against Tyrannia; Shenkuu test their ability against Virtupets; Maraqua face the Roos, and King Skarl and Hagan battle it out once more to see who is the better side.

Good luck to all teams today!

Yeah, you forgot international boards, you forgot how many boards we have, and we have other factors you know nothing about so shut up about it being rigged cause we earned that win and no one wants the SK scoreboard going around crying about it. jealous.gif

Take the loss like a man, man. =/

The AC is rigged I tell you, rigged. We had these amazing scores that were FAR larger than DC's

Actually, if I may, those were "fake" scores: many SK players were inventing scores that were then added to the total so that DC got worried and thought they had lost.

For future teams that try that, don't, KI did too and we actually ended up making another 10k from a last hour marathon to make sure we won. ;)

And besides I think we came close to beating the record we had at the Minions board for most YYB points, when we faced LD though was the biggest at like 160k or something though. I wasn't there at the end to see the final score at the Minions board.

Quiet, because last I checked we beat you. Did FL get a new player?

And I think you spelled Austria wrong.

It was meant to be Australia, in fact. And it was intentional. Austria isn't even in the WC...

FL image fixed. :)

I didn't know that Austria wasn't in the WC. And what was the point of it being intentional?

It's a joke about the FIFA World Cup... Germany beat Australia soundly.

Anyways, SK. I'm disappointed but let's try to beat the people in the third tier, hm? We can do it, now that we know what we're going up against in the AC.
