iPad most over-ratted thing since...

I must admit, Macs are brilliant. However, this thing, this over-sized iPod touch, is ground breaking? Just because it has a bitten Apple stuck to it, its suddenly revolutionary! Why? Netbooks and Internet surfers are better than it, they have multitasking, eBooks and what not. I just don't get the hype. Make me get the hype, or state why you agree with me :D

Personally, I think it's pretty cool. I wouldn't get one, cause I already have an iPhone...but I don't know. The design is really cool and sleek, and it's super fast too.

It is cool and all...but you cant really carry it around with because 1. you can put it in your purse 2. it is easily visible 3. it can/will get stolen. I dont need it because I have the iPod Touch! AHHH! Just got it! I do a lot of my posts from it (not this one).

Personally, I love touch screen comps. My dad has an Hewlitt Packard one that is awesome. But I don't know much about Mac. I just know I love my iPod Nano. And that I had a friend a few years ago that would have nothing but Mac products. But his iPhone just... crashed on him a few times.

I'm not a big Mac or Laptop person. I prefer desktops. (Which is why I like my dad's touchscreen.) Laptops for me, are when I need a computer, away from home. My husband uses strictly his laptop.

But anything touchscreen is cool.

I bought the LG Venus a couple years ago, just because it was touchscreen. (And pink, of course.)

That pretty much sums up the ipad.

I think they are meant to be "reader"... but I prefer books made of paper. I need to see how many pages are left in my ubber good book, not just that I'm on page 435 of 500. I need to see it. This is just me though :P

My sister has/had the LG Venus, had network issues though.

It's great they're working on a second Gen, but what about the people who but this one, and I thought Nintendo where money moochers, they've met their match in Apple laughingsmiley.gif

I don't think Apple was wise in their decision to announce that they were working on a new one already...because it definetly discourages people to buy the first one. Whatever. And that is the one thing I don't love about Apple. They're ALWAYS updating. Not that that's a bad thing...but they're ALWAYS updating your hardware, so your new gadget is outdated in a year. :grrr: frustrating.

Everyone is always like "ooohhhh Apple did this" and "aaahhh Apple did that" but I honestly dont care. I just pay attention to whats coming, but I dont analyze their every decision...no offense to people that do... :laughingsmiley:

See, I'm totally an Apple person. I don't mind PCs...but I absolutely LOVE my MacBook Pro. The only thing is that freeware is more widely developed for Windows...and therefore viruses too I guess.

LOL I love that picture! xD

The iPad seems to be almost a desperate attempt at launching a new product, I mean Apple is know for innovative technology and fast-pace development but I guess you gotta run out of new stuff to make some time or another right?

iPad = bigger iPod or smaller laptop with less function = LAME!

Well that's my opinion anyways.

Agreed with everyone else. First generation is a huge fail, especially if they want to compete with notebooks and other laptops.

No USB ports

No camera

No extended hard drive

Not getting our money :P

When all those features (and more) are implement, then I'll be interested - maybe.

Interesting 'concept' but horrid execution other than it being a cash cow. Makes them more money in the end so what do they care lol

Yeah...but will it really end up making them money?

So far, it seems that there is a lot of hype about it but then everyone I've ever talked to seems to hate it...which is just a little contradictory.

Not sure if this is true, but I think Apple is probably creating hype about it themselves while the consumers (us) know better than to fall for it. Hopefully.

Stuff like that works. That's actually how Tommy Hilfiger got so popular. When he started out... he started making ads, with his name in with very popular designers, when he was an unknown. And it worked well for him. :laughingsmiley:

Lols, I suppose a lot of companies start off that way. And designers, musicians, anything really. We, as a society I mean, tend to like whatever's popular so it's a good marketing strategy.

What's sad about Apple doing it is that they're already popular....so they really don't need to launch something for the sake of it. They should develop something that deserves the popularity it's bound to get.
