So I already had 4 eggs, and when they bred they only made 1. Is that just random or do I need to have no other eggs to have a choice of 5?

It's random, and you can only get up to 4 eggs in a breeding. And you only get to keep one no matter how many you breed.

Oh ok good. I just checked your FAQ, and we only get up to 5 eggs with breeding. So I shouldn't breed if I already have five then.

Oh no :( My water dragon only has two days left, and most of my eggs have 3 or less. (the orange one only one!!) I now we're not supposed to ask for clicks, but is it ok if they're dying? At very least, new update:

I've only been getting 0 or 1 eggs. :( Does our chance of a higher number increase with the age of the dragons? I've only ever bred newly grown dragons so far. I'm probably just unlucky XD

if the abandons are full, you can only get one egg layings. The abandons are usually full, so one egg is the norm. Age has no bearing on how many eggs you get- I have old couples who usually give single eggs clutches and I've bred new couples who gave me four.

...that's the product of some 50 couples breeding. Yes, with enough dragons, you can get TONS of eggs.

 

Most of those are single egg clutches, by the way. I think I've gotten... five two egg clutches and one three in the last week.

And what happens to breeding (I've tried but they don't want). I mean what kind of dragons are they? like the mother or the father, or are randomly picked?

You can only get the species of the mother or father. There are some species where you mgiht get a different color, and Geodes come from StonexStone, PebblexPebble, and StonexPebble pairs, but for most you cna onyl get the parent's species.

Also, there are some species which cannot mate, and golds can only mate with non-gold species (producing a higher proportion of non-golds than golds), correct? :D

Ok that's more complicated than I though, anyway, I have two adults so I'm going to try to breed them and see what happens!

Metallics (Golds and Silvers) can't produce anything with each other. Keeps their populations done some.

But that doesn't stop Anime from breeding a lot of golds
