flyingeevee
I joined a guild that was brand new at the time on neopets and I was developing a great friendship with the leader since she invited me :) I became VP and I supported her for over a year. Eventually, schooling and traveling got to her so she gave the guild to me while she would still back me up since she's our graphics person. Now she said she might quit :( She's stressing out big time and just wants to be guildless. Main reason I stayed was because she's like my best friend on there and I don't know if I would even stay if she goes....but I'm the leader and I don't want the members to get worried or anything like that....I just don't know :(
Ashbash
Well I'd say if you aren't interested in the guild, it wouldn't be fair to the guild members to stay leader. I think it's important to be dedicated to a guild and really interested in it. Is there maybe someone else in the guild on council or anything who might be interested in being a leader that you would trust to take over? Ruto
Ah, this has happened with one of my previous guilds. One of the leaders quit and passed ownership to someone else who abandoned the guild after a while. It's dead now, of course, and I really miss the friends I made there. :( If you're losing interest in the guild, you should take some serious consideration in who you think would be the best at running it. You don't have to leave the guild entirely if you don't want to, but if being leader doesn't appeal to you anymore, I'd say step down and let someone else try. I have...the thing is, our guild was special cause the previous leader made all the graphics to make it unique while I was in charge of our "member's chart" so only us two know html...the guild wouldn't be the same without some knowledge of html for all our activities and such =( We discussed it for a bit...since it's "ours" we might stop the guild...unless someone else really wants to run it on our council. Viridian
As for me, I'd just pass on the guild. I've had enough experiences like this in real life and just don't want to think about it anymore. Just do what feels best to you though :)
Apollo
Offer it up to your council. Let them decide if they would like to let the guild to continue under new leadership, or would rather see that chapter end. It may be your guild, but you owe a little to your members to give them the chance to let their group continue. Just my two cents though. I'm sure you'll make the right choice! - Apollo ^_^

stephie23
you could always put in on hiatus for a little while, test drive the 'giving it up' to see if you're ready..
Midookami
Are you certain that you and your friend are only ones who knows about html? You might be surprised... Maybe someone else can and will take over the guild for you guys. You certainly don't want to shut it down without letting everyone else know about the problem and giving the guild a chance. :$
Ashbash
I understand the part about the graphics and the html but to me that isn't the most important part of the guild. It might help attract new members but if the members you have are still interested in the guild, I think they will be interested in it no matter what graphics you have. Have you asked all the members about knowing html? If they don't, neo does have that tutorial I believe which is really helpful and some of them might be interested in learning. flyingeevee
We've asked around about a month ago for help with petpages since most that were used for the guild were from my own side account pets. No one really wanted to take responsibility for html or css since they knew me and her did the majority of it ^^; We posted about our thoughts and if someone would like to take over. No one has posted anything yet so we're waiting :) Thank you all for the advice!
Apollo
I have to agree with num1ortonfan there - while HTML and CSS sure pretty up a guild, they're not the be all and end all. As long as there's someone to tend to the other administrative duties the guild could go on without it. I hope you get some worthy applicants! - Apollo ^_^
