Revenge
He was blind from birth, but at 16 he had the power to take down half the country, maybe more. http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/297..._too_much/print I you want to participate in this debate, read the article. You'd know that in the end he was sent to jail, but a lot was shown here that wasn't then. If you read this article before his sentence, and you were a decider, what would you say? Terribly guilty, or terribly misunderstood?
Unstream
That's an interesting article. Well, if I were a decider, I'd probably say he was guilty. I mean, I admit he had it tough, but still, that's no justification to what he did. He still decided to commit crimes and do things he knew were wrong. Things like that shouldn't just be excused. I mean, it even mentions at one point how he ruined a man's business. Doing what he did, he probably caused some people to lose some money. You say that when he was sent to jail, a lot of the information that was in the article wasn't available at that time, but how much of it was? And what was the information available? And what's your opinion on this thing, Revenge?
Revenge
I think he'd be an awesome guy to hang out with. If he wasn't in jail that is. He's not a bad guy, just needed to go outside for awhile and meet some different people.
Unstream
That's cool. I'm not saying he's a bad guy, I'm just saying that he made some bad decisions in his life, and those things tend not to go unpunished. I mean most people in prison today come from bad backgrounds. You can't necessarily pardon every one of them, right?
Revenge
Yeah, but a lot of those guys really are bad people. Everyone with a crappy history doesn't have to be a horrible person on the inside. I have a bad background. He said he'd learned, and I believe him. Superfly
I read every word in that article. It was very addicting to keep reading to find out what happened next. I agree with both of you, he'd be awesome to hang out with, but he deserved what he got, since he did do those things.
ΩCCΩ
Well, My opinion is that he was neither guilty nor not guilty, He had some deep emotional problems and his mother didnt help much. He was also addicted to this "hobby of his" and I dont think that if a person is addicted to drugs than you will just chuck him to jail :( . I dont know really, cuz I am 13 afterall.... I just said that coming from one doesn't justify the actions you decide to take. Maybe he really has learned. I'd hope he did. He should still deal the the consequences of what he's done though. Revenge
Every debate here is just filled with misunderstood statements, isn't it?
Tia
I just read the entire article. I think that if the phone line's were that easy to hack into, then they deserve it. I think he should of been fined a large amount, but 11 years in prison is a bit harsh. I know the court of justice should not take into account his blindness, but it's a little unfair. Secre
Personally, I'd say that yes, he was guilty but no, he didn't deserve such a harsh sentence. That article was gripping and it played out the story of a lonely boy who got into bad habits when he was young and was not punished for them then. What he did was indeed wrong, but when that is the only world you know and can have a degree of power in then I believe that alot of people would take it at that age. And once you have got into that habit, and power trip it's difficult to get out of it. He should have been shaken and punished when he was first caught...rather than such a harsh punishment after only warnings...
