So, I will totally use it. I think we should make this thread the UniCreatures viewing thread just so we don't have to make a new topic on the same issue. Do you want me to edit the title to make it sound more official? Like, maybe the same as the title of the DC viewing thread? p.s. I think a lot of the new forum people play, and at least four older people here play, but not as many people played DC either till they made a thread. My suggestion would be to make the viewing thread a viewing thread for all adoptables, and then create independent discussion threads (like we have for Dragon Cave now). Of course, we should find a volunteer to maintain the viewing thread instead of making the moderators do all the hard work. I would volunteer to do it, if that's the decision we eventually make. Basically, someone (I volunteer) would read through all the posts on the discussion topics, finding the eggs or whatever the adoptable is that are on the posts, and putting them on the viewing thread. There is no way to search for other users right now. I guess this could be the discussion thread and we would need to make a new viewing thread, right? So as long as people can figure out how to replace them, we shouldn't run into any problems. If they have trouble, they can just post the URL and I can do the rest. There's the 40-image limit per post, to start with. And people who are new to the sites would get confused as to which adoptable belongs where, and which creatures to click or just view on the thread. There'd be so many images, none would get clicked. IF the threads were combined, the viewing thread should have specified posts for which website the adoptables belong to. The discussion thread might be tricky with questions since you'd have to say "For UC" or "For DC" for each post. And IF it were a universal adoptable thread, that includes all adoptable websites, and some of those adoptables get pretty big o__O My reasons are hard to explain, or I'm just not good at explaining, but either way, I'm against it. Strategos Posted March 23, 2009 Share Posted March 23, 2009 I do see the problem with pure image overload, but if we do a bit of planning, it can work out. First, the DC eggs/hatchlings don't require clicks, so we could just move those to lower posts which people won't scroll down to, but which their computers will "view". Next, the ones that do require clicks and actions (Ex. Unicreatures) can be taken care of by creating an "Creature(s) of the Hour/Day" or something similar. I've done this for the UC viewing thread because I know that I, for one, wouldn't want to click on what is currently almost 40 UCs from just 3 people. As to the discussion thread, I agree with you completely, and continue to support separate discussion threads, since everyone would be lost in the conversation otherwise. My suggestion in a nutshell: Unpin the DC Discussion thread (it will still be near the top of the forum because of conversation), Merge the Viewing Threads and continue the Creature/Creatures of the Hour/Day, and otherwise Preserve the Discussion threads as is. And getting back to Unicreatures since that's the main point of this thread, I'd just like to point out that the images don't automatically update, so please post or PM me when they change so that I can fix it. First, I'd like permission to double post on the viewing thread from the moderators, since I've already run into the maximum image limit. (That was so fast). I can't even post Livvy's. Second, I'd also like to get the viewing thread pinned, since if it's not posted on, it'll drop out of the front page quickly. In fact, it already may have. Or double-posting. We'll even ignore the 7-word rule on this, but every other rule applies. No double-posting.
