Xepha
So, here is a topic driving crazy Alice, one of TDN news poster... What do you know about unborn Neopets such as this one. I've read that it happens when you start to create a pet but click away from the page, so the process is never finished. Did it happen to anyone here before? FutureTXTurkey
I don't anymore about this than Alice or TJ, both of whom I am sure you have already talked to. I would really like to add to this though...while we are talking about Neopets anomalies... How in the world is this guys petpet older than his pet! That makes no sense unless it is a lab ray thing maybe? Heists the Pirate Wocky
Ruto
It used to be that a pet could stay "unborn" if you didn't pick its stats, but I don't think that's the case now...
FutureTXTurkey
Well there is at least one unborn one still out there cause Alice found him. So how long ago did their quit being "unborn" pets... Maybe we should message the user that owns the pet Alice found. See what he has to say about his "unborn" pet.
Xepha
I think your petpet age is affected by the Symol hole... so if someone was visiting everyday, and had attached right after the pet was created, it would do that... And I created this topic because Alice doesn't like to create topic XD.
FutureTXTurkey
The Symol Hole of course! Grr...I do so hate the Symol Hole...never gives me a thing...not once in a year and half! And Alice doesn't like to do much of anything except pwn TJ and stalk the news... Well she's a computer though so I guess she does have limited options for doing things. Mimii
In what way does the Symol Hole affect your petpet's age? o_O That's weird!
amitybelle
I saw this the other day, not this pet, but it was weird, it was a painted pet that wasn't yet born. An expensive colour, too. No idea how that could be possible! I vaguely remember this happening a long time ago to me, I didn't click something so my pet was unborn. It was easy though, just go back and click something to make it active/alive. Lol. But there were a few pages to go through back then, and as (I think) it's only one page now, this doesn't happen now. I guess that pet is old. Poor wee thing! Ali Cat
I went ahead and neomailed him xD Oh, and I'll ask that no one else neomail him, please ^^ He's an old friend. Apparently if you finished everything but rolling for stats, then you could have an unborn pet like this. You could paint the pet, attach a petpet, read books, play with it, etc. Just like a normal pet @_@
FutureTXTurkey
This is what the user with the petpet that out aged his pet replied to me when I neo-mailed him: "The old pet creation process had two pages. First one you picked where they liked to live, the color, species, and all that. Second page, you had five chances to 'roll' for your pets stats to keep. You had to finish this before the pet could be fully created. So if you stopped before you finished, your pet would be 'not created' yet. However, you would still technically have them, and could paint them, read books to them, do jobs with 'em... and attach a petpet." So actually it turns out the two questions are totally interlinked. Of course now I wonder why their aren't more unborn pets left. That's kind of a cool thing when you think about. Have a pet, paint it, do stuff with it, but it's not born, which means it's kind of off the map. I totally love this idea...I wonder if it would have allowed you to have more than for pets...? Like they aren't born so they aren't official...So could you start to create a pet, but then adopt one from the pound, and tada...5 pets? livvy
I'm pretty sure you had a limit of four, even if they weren't officially completed. They're still there, they still eat (I think), they still cost NP to paint and such... so the 4 pet limit is probably still there. Or there would be TONS of people with more than 4 pets. Unstream
Hey I remember that! The thing is though that if your pet was unborn, it'd have to be born before you could create another pet. I wish you could roll for your pet like you used to.
Deepti M.
I don't remember that part. My old account was 19 months old, so I know it was there and I experienced it....
Unstream
I just know back 5 years or so when I first started you had to roll for your stats. They probably had already changed it before you joined.
livvy
I remember rolling! I would always just roll as many times as it let me. I don't know why; I just did. I usually ended up with bad stats though. That may be why they changed it; people got tired of "bad rolls" ending up with low stats.
game_girl101
ah yes, i remember rolling for stats as well. It made things more interesting. Things are just so different these days
Deepti M.
Well no, I remember the "Creating a Pet" page was different then it is now. So I'm trying to remember rolling for the stats.

ChaoticFission
i remember rolling for stats. it made each pet unique in a sense. when i first started playing, for some reason, i loved the idea of having a pet start with good stats... even though i went and trained them anyway. Deepti M.
That shouldn't be allowed. It confuses people, and then a whole bunch of things start to happen.

Deepti M.
but in a way, it's not really reportable, if you look between the lines...
