Monica
I think my account got hijacked yesterday afternoon, I'm having NEOPET WITHDRAWL!!!!! and as if that wasnt enough to make anyone insane... I had MORE than enough to get the Number Six avatar but couldnt log in to get it... <whimpers, sobs, blows her nose> Yes, I filled out the form for retrieving, but knowing how busy they are I dont know how long it will take to make it better. Xepha
Between 2 weeks to a month. If you don't have news in a month, write back to them (through the form again). I'm sorry it happened to you. I hope you can get it back. Your poor pets :(.
Shane for Wax
I have a tendency not to believe these stories simply because of this: Why would anyone want to hack/hijack YOU? Perhaps you did something different in your login process. Until I see proof that you can't log in, I'm just gonna have to shake my head. Deepti M.
I feel your pain. My account hasn't been "hijacked" but it's been frozen. And frankly, about the "Why would somebody want to hijack YOU??" question, that's a question that everybody asks, but only few can answer. Deepti M.
That's true, but how would they know that she had enough for that avvie?
Monica
Yeah, at first I figured my login was wrong, but then I typed it out and c&p'd it to it and STILL didnt work, then I asked to have the password mailed to me, and after waiting 2 hours it never was mailed to me, and so I wager the email address for the account was changed. I have gotten emails from Neopets through my email so I know they "HAD" the right address, and I sincerely wonder why anyone would hack a Fictional game site, seriously... it's for fun... I just am at a lose for why someone needs to... Human nature maybe?

Deepti M.
The Pant Devil did not steal your page. I don't even know if you're serious about that. You were probably hacked. It is beyond me why somebody would want to hack a virtual web site, but it's pure greed. E-mail neopets immediatly, and talk about the situation. Unstream
Deepti, the Pant Devil thing was a script running around Neopets where your petpage turned into a page that said: "The Pant Devil has stolen your page. Click here to get it back" And when you clicked there, it brought you to a page that basically ran a script and you lost all of your neopoints. But it's gone now, and it shouldn't have changed your password. Just a few questions: 1. Do you have multiple email addresses? Maybe you were checking the wrong one. 2. Are you sure your password was typed in correctly? Maybe you had CAPS lock on. 3. Do you have your account PIN locked? Because then your stuff should be fairly safe. Shane for Wax
I still refuse to believe it. I think there is something you aren't telling us. Did you go to any suspicious sites that grabbed your cookies, or had you enter your neopets info to get free stuff?
Deepti M.
No offense, but maybe you shouldn't be so suspicious of people. I'm sure that there are some people who would do that but here on TDN we're all friends. (Did I just sound like a hippie???)
Unstream
I still refuse to believe it. I think there is something you aren't telling us. Did you go to any suspicious sites that grabbed your cookies, or had you enter your neopets info to get free stuff? What's not to believe? She never said she didn't lose her account due to a CG or entered in her info in a scam. She just said she can't log in, and she believes that her account was hacked. That can be rather legit in my opinion. And why not believe in the first place? It's not like she's asking for donations.
livvy
I think we can trust that Monica wasn't stupid enough to fail to log in once and immediately say "Woe is me, my account has been hacked!" I'm sure she tried multiple times. And she even asked TNT for her info. Credit her intelligence a bit. Monica, I sincerely hope this whole thing gets straightened out. Xepha
Your email address could have been compromised in some ways. So easy to then change the email account linked to the neopets account, and then change the password to it so you can't get it back. It did happen to someone I know. It could also depend of places where you played Neopets at... public computers aren't as secure as one that isn't share with anyone.

Well, I didn't mean she only tried once (that is, if that's directed at me) I mean like there are all of those times that I've freaked before I realized I had CAPS lock on, or that I was checking the wrong email address the whole time (I have like like, what, five?) But Xepha's right. It's never a good idea to use public computers for logging into anything. They tend not to be very secure.
Batman
Have you tried asking for your information more then once? It might have just never gotten to your email.
livvy
(It wasn't directed at you, Will. Your suggestions were perfectly plausible, and they're definitely ones I would've completely overlooked for a while. I was directing my comments at ROTCchick.) Deepti M.
I do beliieve Monica. Livvy's right. She's not asking you to donate 1,000,000 K to her new account, if she made one. She's not asking you to do anything. Basically, she just wants to know what to do, and even some comfort from the rest of us. But you have my sympathy's Monica! ^_^
DiamondZ
By the way. TnT will nOT come back to you with your pass for your account. I did the same thing when i forgot my accounts pass (but remembered it now) they said they didn't keep it and deleted it
Deepti M.
They do give you your password back. :guiltysmiley: Unless your account was frozen, and I checked her userlookup and it's still active.

Human nature maybe? You just hit it dead on. Human nature. It's human nature to always be in control. If someone sees something they want and can't have, they'll take it, even if it's virtual, just for the power.
Bob_the_Bunny
*sigh* it's just an online game. Of course, Neopets is fun and everything, but why do people feel the need to hack accounts? After all, it's only a game.
Ruto
Aww, that really sucks, Monica. :( I wish you best of luck getting your account back. I have a tendency not to believe these stories simply because of this: Why would anyone want to hack/hijack YOU? Perhaps you did something different in your login process. Until I see proof that you can't log in, I'm just gonna have to shake my head. Y'know, that was really rude. I don't see any reason not to believe her. These things DO happen, and it's not like Monica is asking for donations. She's simply sharing something awful that happened, and I'm sure others could relate to it. And Bob, some people just have nothing better to do with their talents. Either that, or they're insecure. Maybe both.
livvy
It's pretty sad, actually. That you would have to steal virtual money and virtual items to make yourself feel good. Sad.
