there are lots of options here .. i got lost checking them all :D but i believe you're looking for Private Messages options ... it's in the bottom of the list ...

it is fine .. random events on side accounts are something out of your control :) even if you got an item on a side account (map piece , codestone) you can send it to your main and sell it or use it ..
