  1. Actually, I'm pretty sure the ones Chaotic Fission mentioned are free. I dunno for sure though.

no, you have to pay for both. you might be thinking about AVG Free, which i am currently using in leu of the pro version. it works quite well, although you are not given the same level of in-depth protection as you are with the paid variation.

also, i would suggest to regularly scan your computer for adware/malware and various other malicious things that the internet has to offer. spybot and adaware are two decent scanners for that.

  2. i sort of agree with both sides. on the one hand, you're not truly a newbie unless you sell something for way less than it's worth or make some ridiculous mistake. on the other hand, if it was one of us in the same position, we would most likely prefer to be alterted about our mistake.

there's also another possibility: maybe it's the person's 2nd account and he/she just wants to be generous... i've seen a few of those, although not very often.

  3. on the topic of what you can and can't do on a side, is it legal to transfer your life savings to a side in order to use the soup kitchen (for the avatar only, of course)?

  4. yes, but gunbound also has the ability to decrease the quality of the game and remove unnecessary parts (such as backgrounds, sounds, etc). keyquest does not offer such things. also, gunbound is a program, not a web-game. in order to implement fining of quitters, they will first need to implement a low quality mode that would not crash the lower-end users (and also, possibly create better game caching so that you don't need to load all the game parts every single time you go to play).

  5. Because then people could set it up so that one person would always quit and then the other would get a prize, and then switch people. I think a better way would be to penalize them if they quit, so they'll lose 1000 NPs or so, like in Gunbound.

i couldn't agree more :) i think i actually made that suggestion in one of my anti-sore quitter threads.

it's too bad that you can't really differentiate laggers from sore quitters.

  6. funny enough, one of my zaps actually got me a rainbow slorgcops. but since this has already been resolved, i went and rezapped it.

i also started keeping track of my petpet zaps now, just for fun. nobody seems to really care since the pet get unzapped if you detach it, but i think it's fun to see what you petpet has been zapped into. the zap log can be seen here

  7. i remember rolling for stats. it made each pet unique in a sense. when i first started playing, for some reason, i loved the idea of having a pet start with good stats... even though i went and trained them anyway.

  8. FYI, for those that didn't know, i just tried playing the challenge game before accepting the challenge, pressing accept challenge once i have cleared the score for AAA, and getting the prize. in other words, play the game and get the score you need before accepting a challenge. i did not think that it would work, but apparently, it does.

hope i was able to help some of you with this info :)

  9. when i was younger, my awesomesauce account got stolen by one of my friends. he just guessed at my password until he got it.

i lost another pretty nice account because another "friend" peeked at my password while i was entering it. both of the cases just happened to be at the public library.

another time that i almost lost my account, i was using one of the computers at an internet cafe. fortunately for me, i scanned the computer prior to entering my credentials to find out that it had a keylogger installed.

moral? don't trust everyone and don't use public computers.
