Hey guys,

 

So, I recently created a small bookmarklet to allow a player to easier see which map pieces they possess, and which ones they need to buy. What the code does, is put a large number over the map piece, the number being whichever map piece it is.

 

I've posted it up in general neopets chat already, but am not sure that is where it belongs. Also, please let me know if I should continue to post code that I find useful.

I haven't been to this forum in quite some time, so as my coming back present, I decided to contribute a little piece of Javascript that I just wrote. The purpose of this little script is to show you the number of the map pieces, since they are all identically named.

 

To use it, search for a Bookmarklet creator and paste the code in exactly as shown below. Once done, you can save that link, and use it on any page that has a map piece on it. This is particularly helpful when trying to track down the last map piece of a particular set.

i submitted a ticket about not being able to confirm my changed email.... then i got frozen.... and 2 days later, a response to the original ticket came. yea. that was helpful.

if one were to compare TNT to a form of government, one would say that it is more of a monarchy rather than a goverment-- they don't care to make a small "mistake" for the greater good. most importantly, they want for every user to know that their accounts are in jeopardy every single day. what they don't realize, however, is that freezing people randomly, especially those who have been with the site for a long time, would begin to deter them from continuing playing again.

i feared as much. well, there go any wild dreams of ever getting a food club trophy. i think i made around 900k from food club overall. =/

i wish that there would be some kind of rename account feature or something....

so, as some of you may be aware, i was banned quite recently... and as such, i have created a new account. unfortunately, having a newbie account isn't exactly lucrative when it comes to making np from foodclub, as my investment is limited by the age of my account. fortunately, i have a side account that i have barely used, but is fairly decently aged. i don't have anything on it that would disqualify it from being a side (no bank, no shop, no gallery, etc). so, my question goes like this: if i want to use my current account as my main, but only play foodclub on my side, would that be legit, or would TNT start throwing snowballs at me for making np on a side?

well yesterday I made 3 bets and one of them won (26k) :D

 

today both Jamila and Shazeni are saying bet on Peg Leg Percival in Shipwreck but when I click on it ... there's no Percival to choose ??? :sad01_anim:

 

the petpages are saying "round 4282" but my betting page says round 4283 . is it because I collected my winnings ??

 

no, that would be because they haven't updated their bets yet. and yes, you should be betting all 10 bets. anything less will guarantee losing in the long run.

yea, that's what i heard as well. that is really upsetting. especially since they waited for this godforsaken plot to be over, after i invested so much time into it, to ban the account. so now, besides the fact that i lost countless millions, avatars, few key quest tokens, few trophies, and 5 year account, i will also not be gaining any benefit from the exceedingly annoying plot.

What on earth is an auto-buyer? Surely TNT must know that people go crazy in the shops on HP day...

after a quick search, an auto-buyer is a type of program cheaters use to automatically buy items from shops really quickly, and due to TNTs stance on automation, this is a big no-no.

well, i submitted my appeal, listing as much detail and things that i remember from my account. i hope they get back to me. if not, i may lay off neopets for a little while. kind of depressing to think that all that hard work was for nothing (again).

 

just created a newbie account *sigh*. at the very least, if i decide to stay or come back, this account will age a bit. introducing: dealer_of_destiny and the battle pet, CloakedMenace.

not every thing that i buy... just the things that make a good profit.

do you think i should send them screenshots of everything that i bought in the last 24 or so hours?

alrighty. well, i guess that i am the only one that finds it useful.

i logged into my account this evening to find out that it has been frozen :(

the reason they gave is: This account was using an 'auto buyer' to buy things from Neopet shops.

 

the thing is, i haven't used an auto buyer of any kind (and i wouldn't even know where to get one). do you think that it is possible to get my account back if i put together a well-worded appeal, with screenshots of my purchases? i usually take screenshots of my more profitable buys, although not that many, that i have managed to snag.

 

any assistance would be great.

when looking for lab maps, how do you guys go about finding which pieces you are missing? do you compare the images side by side or do you check the number in the image src of the map?

 

side question: are bookmarklets allowed, as long as they don't automate anything? if so, i can post a very useful bookmarklet that i found which will aid hunting down those missing pieces.

it only works with lab maps and only in FF, Chrome, and Safari.

Thanks for the guide, I never would have tried Food Club on my own, and I doubled my money today! Of course, I didn't bet much, still testing the waters, but it's on my daily list now.

 

which guide are you referring to? the "follow the leader" bets or the "do it yourself" bets?

i just got the avatar. let me just say that it was a very torturous experience. after you have completed the board, each subsequent 7-letter word nets a measly 10 points.... so it takes a TON of repetitious work to get that avatar. I would like to mention that the crypt nets 150 points.

i can't seem to be able to find any secret lab maps on the tp. is it just me, or have all the trades been taken down?

The scores reset 12am nst on the 1st. that means you should play games on the 1st and send score before the day ends.

 

You wouldnt want to send the score right when score resets...rather send score before the trophies are awarded because if you send score too early, others will try to top it.

 

when do the trophies get awarded? and aren't the scores not visible if they are very high = need TNT approval?

there is a pretty basic strategy that i use which usually tends to net me a decent share of np. i believe i posted a guide a while back on this site--i will try to find it if anyone is interested.

i will most likely be coding something interesting and possibly neopets-related. i was thinking of taking another look at the tarla alert bar for firefox.

if you were to get a high score at 10 pm NST and keep the window open (and not send the score) until 12 am NST, would that work for trying to get that trophy? i would assume that there is some kind of timeout mechanism (aka the bane of our existence when you try to submit a score to only get a "Sorry, something happened" message). well, if it does work, that would be great since you could have several hours to get that high score instead of those first 15 mins.

i got 900k today. could've had a run for that trophy :3 that little chia dude starts getting pretty quick towards the later levels. it's a shame that the snowager is such a slowpoke.

btw, have any keyboard cheats been released for this game yet? like extra ammo or something?

hmmmm..... i wonder what the ratio is. all the scores that i have sent have netted me 1000 and a score review. it's a shame that i will most likely not be getting that shiny trophy (since i can't even beat AAA's score yet). gonna try again tomorrow.. no point in wasting earning capacity.
