  1. :D :D :D

I love you! :eh: *lol* Sorry, just I've actually found it quite rare, finding other Phil Collins fans! :) And being 23 years old most people think it's strange I know his music, but come on, he's not that old!!! :)

Anyway, back to the point of this topic :) "Karma Chameleon" by Culture Club is now playing :D

    *waves*

    Another Phil Collins fan!

On-topic portion of the post: "Airship Pirates" - Abney Park

  2. good point about switching half way through. i did not know that you could do that

It doesn't work with every school. Figure out where you want to go later and make sure that your credits are transferable for that college. It usually works very well for in-state university systems. It's hit and miss for some other schools. Not all classes are transferable. The rules can get a little confusing, but it's worth a few hours of figuring it out to save a few thousand dollars.

  3. Thanks for the welcome, Blue! :)

Thats probably a good idea! xD The Alex Cross series (highly recommended) is about 9-12 books... I can't remember exactly. I've read about 5 and they are amazingly written.

    Any books that you recommend?

Not for kids, but J.R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, starting with A Game of Thrones, is fantastic. It's a must-read epic tale. It's not finished yet, but he's working on it. He plans 4 more books for a total of 8. Disclaimer: It's a bit dark and there are some disturbing occurrences and some scenes that may be inappropriate for younger readers.

  4. [Edit: Found a new home!]

    Hello!

I zapped my lab rat pet this morning and had a nice little surprise. Jubtasmic is now a striped JubJub and she's up for adoption!

I can do a pound transfer, but I also have my monthly pet transfer open. If you have an opening on your account and really want a striped JubJub, apply here! If I don't hear from anyone by about mid-day Thursday, I'll just pound her.

(Using proper grammar and spelling is a plus!)

  5. Nice Intro! ^_^ Good bios, like this one, help members get to know one another easier! I hope to see you areound the forums! Have fun!

By the way, I love mystery novels! Have you read some of James Patterson's books?

    Thanks!

I haven't read any of his work yet, but it's on my list. I keep hearing good things. I'm trying to finish a few more books before I start up another set.

  6. I personally don't mind them as they are. I see nothing really inappropriate or suggestive. They're not drawn to be that way, despite the amount of skin they show. (Reminds me of Tinkerbell. She had a short dress, but wasn't suggestive.) Now, if you were to take the same faeries and change the poses to something more suggestive, then it would become a problem. See, I don't have a problem with the body. But once it's put into a suggestive situation, it then becomes something inappropriate for the young ones.

  7. I always buy at 15NP. I also try to diversify. If the only stocks at 15NP are stocks I already have a few thousand of, then I wait and check in every half hour to see if any others reach 15NP. I do buy my limit every day at 15NP regardless, though. I do have a diverse portfolio. I also have a sell price and I only sell if they get that high. Otherwise, I let them sit there. I've made a good amount off the stock market. It's a fairly safe investment and doesn't require a lot of time or effort. Usually a few minutes in the morning and a refresh every half hour while I'm online.

Sometimes stock goes up after I sell it. That's okay. I've still made plenty of money anyway. :D

  8. Not only is it against the rules to have someone watch your pets for you, but it could very well lose you your pets and neopoints. :(

    Go here:

    http://www.neopets.com/neolodge.phtml

That's the Neolodge, as mentioned by Sassy_Eggs. For 5NP per night per pet you can have your pets fed and happy for up to 28 days. You can pay more if you want to, but mine stay perfectly happy and well-fed on the 5 NP option.

  9. Yes it's allowed unless you're restocking. Really, I'd quit Neopets if they disallowed blocking all the ads.

I've been away for a while, so I must have missed this. I thought blocking ads was generally not allowed by Neopets. So it's allowed UNLESS you're restocking now? I do some RSing occasionally. Can you please provide a reference where TNT has said they allow it except for RSing? I'd appreciate it. I want to keep within the rules. :)

  10. Well, let's see what on my bookshelf is fit for younger audiences...

I'm finally reading L'Engle's Wringle in Time trilogy. I don't think I would have fully appreciated it as a kid. They're wonderful books, full of very human fears and joys put into words in a masterful way. Excellent storytelling.

Elizabeth Peters' latest mysteries. They're all good. I'm a couple of books behind, though. Need to go buy the latest stuff.

I'm reading the His Dark Materials trilogy and rather enjoying it. Disclaimer: I think I'm more than old enough to separate reality from fantasy here, and it's an interesting tale. It's not for little kids, and any younger readers here that are of the religious type should probably discuss it with their parents first and, as with any work of fiction, keep in mind that it's just that: fiction.

Books by Terry Pratchett, Tad Williams, and Gregory Maguire occupy my bedside table as well. I'm reading about 12 books right now, but the darker themes of some of them aren't fit for the kids here, so I'll skip those.

  11. If you do the first two years at a community college and your last two (or however many) at the college of your choice, you still get the same piece of paper in the end. Only you've paid less for it. You also aren't forced to live on campus as a freshman. You usually still get the same general requirements. Just look carefully at what is transferable credit and what is not.

Dartmouth is a very good school. Look up which ones are rated well overall and in your field of study, then look at the culture of the school to make sure you'll fit in.

In the end, you're the only one who can decide which route is right for you. But keep in mind that a community college can be a great place to start. Good luck to you in your search!

  12. Wargames looks to be outside my usual type of game, but it might be interesting.

I've played WoW for over 3 years now. I still enjoy it, but I'm also fortunate enough have a good social network there of long-time online friends and RL friends. I probably would have burned out otherwise.

Conan looks interesting, but I'm waiting for more content development. I hear that it's great and immersive up until level 20, but that the content and voiceovers and such is very sparse after that. We'll see.

I've tried a handful of MMORPGs, but nothing else has really caught my attention. I wanted to try Pirates of the Burning Seas, but I never could get the beta to work. :/

  13. I looked at Webkinz once. It just didn't seem to have the breadth and depth that Neopets has. I like having more to do. Besides, I've already invested emotion and time into Neopets and I'm still enjoying it. :)

  14. Thanks for the work you went through in figuring out and posting this! I love the new Firefox version, but lost my toolbar. This was exactly what I needed. Also, that other addon is a great idea! I work from home all day, but when I get really involved in work, I forget about things like the Snowager. I still need that darn Snowager avatar!

I wanted to also reiterate that, yes, it IS rather difficult to code in features for IE. *shudders at the thought of the last attempt* Microsoft just doesn't make it easy for us. Another reason I adore Firefox. :D

  15. Hello!

I'm a long-time Neopets player. I've played for about seven years, off and on. I took a break for a while, lost my old account info, and ended up making a new account about four years ago. I was a member of another Neopets-related forum for a few years, but participation there has dwindled, so I'm looking for a new home.

I'm an avid avatar collector. I play some games now and again. I do some restocking to support my avatar and BD habits. I'm saving up for the bigger avatar purchases and to keep strengthening my pet. I also invest in the stock market daily.

I have three pets I'm incredibly attached to and will never get rid of. I keep a fourth pet as a lab rat and adopt it out after a color change. I'm hoping to get an avatar color eventually. Hasn't happened yet, though.

Well, that's the short version. I hope that I end up fitting in here. I look forward to getting to know all of you!
