midnight_sun_337 got a reaction from Musical_Shoyru in Well, hello there!
Thank you for the warm welcome, everyone!  :D

I'm well looking forward to diving in and getting involved~

Thanks for the links, Magical_Shoyru - I've joined the guild, and I'm looking forward to participating in the thread.  I think it's gonna be tricky for me to think of things I want, but I'm really stoked to help out other people with things they want.  It's kinda funny, cause that's pretty much how Christmas goes for me IRL too XD  Giving feels good.

midnight_spell360 - Midnight is also definitely optimal operating time for me, although trying to be a responsible adult and get enough sleep has meant that I haven't seen it as much as I'd like recently, haha.  Thank you for the beautiful welcome package, and if there's anything you wanna know about Scotland, always feel free to ask.  I like to get super patriotic sometimes XD

I would agree with the other folks who mentioned http://www.w3schools.com!  When I was at university studying Computing, we were directed to w3schools by the lecturers quite often.  It's a great website, easy to use and it has browser-based examples that you can play around with to get a feel for what each thing does. :)

As far as Computing-based books are concerned, the Head First series are really quite fun and engaging, with examples you can download from their website - check those out if you can! :)
