Im a diehard Awakened fan, but I have not won a single skrimish, so Im caving in with Sway. It also looks like Sway is popular on the Neopets BD board.

The best advice I was given when starting the stock market was don't worry about selling yet, worry about setting up your portfolio. My goal became a portfolio of 500k, then 1mil, then 2 mil, I'm working on hitting 3 mil.

 

Once my portfolio hit the 1-1.5mil mark, I was selling a stock every week or two.

 

So Yeah, at the beginning it was definitely a long term investment because I didn't sell my first stocks for a while (unless they went ridic high), but now I have a portfolio that runs really efficiently without much work or worry about when to sell.

Thanks Siniri! I've always avoided Food Club cuz it was kinda confusing and Ive never been a good gambler, but following Hugo's system makes it easy!

I love the fact that Neopia is more of a text-adventure than a 3D world. There is pokemon, countless apps, and even WoW (with their new battle pets) for that kind of gaming...Neopets offers something different and I think that makes it unique. Because of its text-limitations, Neopets (atleast used to be) super funny, culturally relevant, ect ect. I do miss that.

 

I think the move to an app is a great way for Neopets to get connected to a younger generation of new players. When I was a kid 12 yrs ago just started to play Neopets, all of my friends used to go on the computer after school. We used to go on MSN chat or ICQ, play games like Neopets, Alien Adoption, ect ect. And when one kid found out about a site, it spread like wild fire. Now, I see my nephews and they are rarely on the computer, opting instead to play on their cellphones. Apps spread the way websites used to spread. My nephews only seem to go to the computer with specific tasks they want to do (like Video creation). Maybe having an app will reach younger new players and bring them into the world of Neopia?

 

Though it is a scary question...can Neopets survive the 2010s? I'm not sure if they can.... :(

The food club is something Ive never tried out myself. I checked over Hugo's bets, but Im a bit confused. Do I make all of his bet suggestions? Or just pick one?

What a real bummer about your tattoo difficulties! I'm actually working on this short story writing project incorporating Foucault's notions of western society as a disciplinary society, and the control politics have over our bodies. I find it outrageous and intriguing the ways governments attempt to control our bodies (and the way people and their morals attempt to control and limit others bodies too).

 

What leg tatts did you end up getting?

I think stumbling on this post is so funny because I literally just came back from the tattoo shop! Sadly, they backed out from our earlier consult, saying they didn't think they could pull off the hyper realism look I was going for (computer ports that look integrated into my skin behind my ear-->cyborgian feminism). I got a solid recommendation.

I do have one tatt though. Its a Bansky/Dark Angel inspired tatt.

Game avvies are some of the hardest to get, and they take real determination to stick it through.

It can be a lot of work figuring out stocks, but its honestly my number 1 source of revenue. Just stick through it!

Todays achievement would have been a non-achievement. I caved and blew over 200k on random avvie hunting (Wheel of extravaganza, kelp, ect). and got nothing :( Ahwell, it was lots of fun rolling the dice!

I was able to complete all my GMC challenges today. The only unfinished bonuses ones are spectacles. That game takes soooo long!

Neopets has had glitches before where items that were consumable weren't and where items you should not be able to eat were definitely eatable. LoLz oh Neopets!

My only real goal is on my avvie total (currently at 247) and np collecting (currently 10million np)
Ive always wanted an UC but I think I've given up on that one. I do have me 3 other non UC dreamies

I've also started playing with stamps, but thats not an ambitious practice, just for funsies.

Anyone noticed after playing turmac roll for a while you get real dizzy?? I got some mad luck and hit a personal high score, but afterwards the room was spinning :P

Whenever Neopets has fun little events like the Game Master Challenge, Advent Calander, etc, I always try to quickly sell my items off and make max profits. But this year I'm trying my best to just have fun with the items and avoid checking their cost -- like the fun stary background I got. I find sometimes I change my opinion on the value of an item based on its cost....

 

SO, what do you folk do? Do you sell? Do you keep? Do you use? Do you horde to one day sell at double the price?
