The Pound - yay?

Okay, everyone's glad the Pound is coming back. Is there some reason adopting from the Pound is better than making a new pet yourself? Just something fun to do?

Well, the thing I'm personally most happy about is that we can transfer our pets to other accounts again :) I've been wanting to switch my pets around for a while now lol

 

However, a lot of people prefer to adopt from the pound because you can find already-painted pets there.

I think its a bad thing that one only can safe transfer 1 pet a month

I don't really care about transferring pets because none of my pets are any good anyway :crying:

Also, I think it's a good thing that the pound comes back because it's one of the most appreciate feature of Neopets ;)

I'm very glad the pound will be back! There's some avvies I would love to get my hands on with the help of the ALP program here, and with the pound back up it means pet lending will probably be back too! And now that they added a transfer feature, it means that pet lending will be safe and reliable now, for both people involved!

Although the allowed transfer once per month seems real limited.

The bad thing is that its very limited. One can only send and receive 1 pet a month.

The reason that transfers are limited is because TNT doesn't want people to buy or sell pets. With the previous system, there was no guarantee, so no one would buy or sell; however, transfers allow you to get avatars safely and you can ensure that pets go to side accounts, so that's why they added it in.

I still think that 1 send and receive a month is to little. But its better than nothing.

Well, you can still use the risky method of abandon and adopt.

That is very, very risky. SOmeone else could take your pet too, especially if it was painted in some kind of way. :guiltysmiley:

If you read the news when you adopt a pet it will NOT be painted or have clothes. All of that is lost when you dump you pet off in the pound so forget about the old way of getting lucky once in a while and getting a cool pet.

Adopted pets can still be painted... they just won't have any of the clothes that come with the colour (if they're painted a colour that comes with clothes), so if you want those you will have to repaint the pet. For colours that don't have clothes it'll work just like the pound used to.

So, it might just be easier to just create the pet and paint it, than to adopt it if it's just going to come with out clothes? This defeats the whole purpose of having the pound. If I wanted a Royal Kougra of something, I would want to adopt it. Now I would have to adopt a Royal Kougra without clothes, and re-paint it.

Well, if you are lucky enough to find someone who is wanting a new home for their Royal Kougra then they can transfer it to you (with the clothes) via the Transfer function...

Well that used to be the only way to transfer pets between accounts, so be grateful for the new transfer feature. :yes:

After looking at the new features especially the transfer option, I can't wait to try it out because I still have a few avatars to get...
