Do you guys miss the shoutbox?

To be honest.

I don't really miss it, It just caused Spam and 1/3 of the things there were just pointless.

 

So now, the forums will be more active again. Maybe if the forums become really active, then it may return, I hardly doubt it.

Yes, but you must also take into account that the shoutbox was removed because of spam. If you start spamming the forums, then you'll just get into trouble. So, post, but don't spam, because then it would've been pointless to remove the shoutbox.

Jennifer, it's gone... It seems like its going to be replaced with better things though, so I'm honestly over it. If it increases the activity of the forums and gets rid of spam, then I'm all for it

I don't really miss it since I never used it unless it was an "emergency". All I saw was spam in there or very random topics so it didn't make sense to me having a shoutbox when we had our Random topic. The refreshing was annoying me, but I did like the fact that it kept me in company XD and some of the shouts were pretty hilarious.

It is quite a shame to see the shoutbox vanish, honestly.

I believe anyone can survive without it though. Afterall, topics are what makes up what a forum is. A shoutbox is basically a add-on bonus. And unfortunatly, this bonus was badly abused to the point where activity on the actual boards quickly plummeted. There is one user that has used the shoutbox constantly but have only posted only once or twice on the forum. And spam was an increasing problem.

 

Therefore, the shoutbox is alright to leave. Besides, Ian is making up for it with cool new features!

=/ miss it.... We need to somehow invent like a mini shoutbox in forum style like someone starts this topic and we all stay together talking but that just a theory andyway not saying it should be published or anything

I miss it a bit, mainly because of the hilarious times some of us have had there, but it's not too much of a problem - and you can actually see the results in the increased forum activity, which is good.

I know :( The shoutbox was a pretty cool feature, but now people will talk more in topics and on the actual forums instead of posting pointless stuff in the shoutbox. Plus, the shoutbox was abused 75% of the time... people quadruple shouted like 23894734 times and there were ALWAYS warnings in the shoutbox. So, to stop the abuse, we removed it.

 

A store and arcade is coming soon definitely... so don't fret! :)
