Leo brought the aircraft down towards the ground, scanning carefully for any threats in the area - humans weren't the only dangerous creatures around here. He spotted a few, but hopefully he could get in, grab the probe, and get out before they reached him. He promptly did so, landing the craft beside a small crater, and grabbed the still warm probe. Then he froze. There was something moving in the bushes nearby.

Levy awoke 3 hours later in a cave. He looked at his arms, caucasion. He sat up, his body resembled that of a Homo Sapien. He looked around and saw her. She looked like a Homo Sapien.

Then it hit Levy, "Aw I forgot." His voice wasn't doubled like it was back in the forest.

"Your right, its that time of the year, fun's over for the next four months." she replied.

Homo Chiropians are almost unkillable, but their biggest weakness occurs every year in the winter for all Chiropians. They return to a Homo Sapien-looking form and most go into hiding for that four months. They still have their exceptional agility and strength, along with their light build they can leap very high even without their wings.

Levy stood, he had been dressed in tattered wolf and fox furs, "Thank you for rescueing me."

She stood up, walked up to him and held out a large chunk of bark with cooked meats on it, "Eat up, you will need your strength."

"Thank you." said Levy digging into the nearly-raw meat, "By the way, my name is Levy, what's yours?"

"Ayde" she responded without looking at him, she store blindly into the fire.

((Nah, I have no idea what I was thinking about when I came up with Ayde. I think it was in a dream while I was drooling in a school book last year during study hall.))

Moving with speed and fluency gained from years of experience, Leo jumped backwards into the aircraft and brought it quickly up to an altitude of 15 metres. Then the engine slowed - it wouldn't take him any higher for a few minutes as it needed time to charge from a cold start. Still, he was reasonably safe here, unless whatever had been hunting him was a Homo Chiropian. Even without their wings, they could still possibly manage to rapidly scale a tree and reach that height before he could react. He sighed quietly and pulled out a set of motion sensors to help him track any activity.

((I just want to add something, not many species know of Chiropian's yearly weakness. Espescially the group on the ground. I want to make this a bit interesting.))

Levy and Ayde left the cave together and ran towards the area where Levy attacked.

"Do you think anyone's killed?" Levy asked.

"I don't know, you got someone with those darts and I bet there are some internal injuries on the couple I ran through to get to you." she replied.

They got to the area and stayed behind the brush.

Levy looked at Ayde, then himself, and though aloud, "I bet we could pass as the last of the few remaining Homo Sapiens."

"Good thinking, lets remember to limit our strengths around them, this might be interesting." Ayde replied to him, intreaged.

Animawler looked sternly at people around him and sagged his shoulders. Poison from the darts seemed to have dripped onto him a little. Fortunatly, no skin was broken and it caused a mild swollen area. "I'm going to wash this off." sighed Animawler as he began walking away. He glanced at the mountains in the distance once more, detecting life scattered across it. "I don't even want to know what that was..."

Leo picked up two targets on his motion sensors, and he immediately focused on them. He couldn't determine their species at this range without an optics system, but he kept a close watch on them. The engines were only halfway charged, and still only outputting barely enough thrust to keep the aircraft flying.
