tammyisbored
My old set was frozen 10 years ago, and I'm not sure if I should rebuy the same set or invest in newer/better weapons. My old set was: -Gbomb -KBT -SOS -Kacheek life potion -H4k helm (Maybe upgrade to fpot?) -ROTL I have about 20m currently to invest but I intend to save up more for this cause. Aquamentis12
Hi, first off, you've got a pretty decent set there, even 2 slots that you could swap in some different items depending on whom you're battling. So I'm looking at your Kacheek, and I think it would be more effective to train her. Get her to Level 50 and then purchase the Lens Flare Faerie ability, that will help you immensely in the battledome. H4K Helmet + Offensive weapon + Lens Flare, is a killer combo that will give you 2 turns without needing to worry about defending yourself. Lens Flare stops the opponent during the turn it's used, and the H4000 Helmet will freeze for the next turn. Obviously you can only use this combo once per battle. but it's a good little trick if you're struggling. Anyway, for you, if you have battles that last longer than 2 rounds, I'd suggest a Downsize, It should be under 10,000np and blocks 50% of damage once per battle. AVOID Downsize Power Plus! It's one use and retired, NOT worth it. Anyway, the only Upgrade from regular Downsize! that's feasible would be the Thyoras Tear, which blocks ALL damage once per battle. If you wanted to block all damage one time, you COULD go for a Thick Smoke Bomb. It's one use and then it's gone, but it DOES block ALL damage for it's one use. And they're not too bad to replace, but still, I recommend not going that route if you can avoid it, simply to help save NP. That leaves you one slot for an additional shield, or perhaps a 15-icon muffin or something. Really, your set has a number of weapons that are kind of overpowered for your pet's stats. In other words, you'll get more damage out of training your Kacheek, than you will by upgrading. Even if you went into the "Pea family" you'd still only do a pittance of damage. Like, take the Super Attack Pea, one of the strongest weapons in the game. 32 icons, however at your current strength, you would only do a max damage of 80 HP. Now my peophin, has the 750 (final currently) strength boost. My best constant-weapon is the Stone Foam Finger, which comes with 15 icons, less than half of the Super Attack Pea's icons. But in a battle, my Stone Foam Finger will do a maximum damage of 240 damage. This is just an example to show how training matters.% mtsparky
tammyisbored
Thanks! That's a really helpful post :D I'm not too familiar with the new faerie abilities so that's really good to know, I'll definitely do that. I'm still training Kryla but training just takes SO MUCH TIME haha and buying a new weap has this instant satisfaction to it... I will definitely keep training though, I used to have much better stats on my frozen pet but in a little while kryla will be there too xP T-Tear and peas are a bit out of my budget atm so I probably wont be going that route lol
Aquamentis12
You're welcome! I'm glad you find it so useful!Since you're new to Faerie Abilities, I have 2 links that you might find very helpful in learning about the new abilities. TDN's article on Faerie Abilities. http://battlepedia.thedailyneopets.com/index.php/articles/viewarticle/new-faerie-abilities/ And one of the MAIN contributors of data for that guide, his petpage has a lot of useful information as well. So I'm including a link to his pet's page as well. http://www.neopets.com/~_mariokart_#home Training DOES take time, but it's totally worth the effort imo. ;) If you happen to be a user of Neocash (NC), there is an item, called a Training Fortune Cookie, only available in the NC Mall. What this cookie does, is when you open it is that each time you start a training session, your training time will be reduced between.... I think it was between 30%-80% Or pretty close to anywhere between those percentages. This randomly reduced training is in effect for 5 days. 5 days x 24 hours. Each time you train the amount of shortened time will be randomized. At the end of the 5 days, you will need to open another cookie if you wish to continue with the shortened training times. The cookie costs 175 NC. Translated into US Dollars, that works out to being $1.75. A little pricey imho, but it IS useful when those long hours of training get to be too much. There are other fortune cookies, but the only other one I know of that helps your stats, is the Faerie Quest Fortune Cookie. For 9 days, again the formula, days x 24 hours, this cookie gives you 1 free AND random Faerie Quest. You never know which faerie you'll get. Could be a Fire Faerie, or maybe even the Fountain Faerie. ANY faerie can appear to give you a quest. These cookies are also in the NC Mall, and cost 100NC ($1.00 USD). If you MISS a day's quest though, you can't get it back. So make sure if you use one, you can visit Neopets and accept/complete the quest each day. There are OTHER fortune cookies in the NC mall, but those two are the only ones that help with training. Since you won't be going the route of the Peas, or T.TEAR, I'd say your offense is just fine for now. A few defense items you can rotate or swap depending on whom you're fighting would be my next focus if I were you. As you continue your training. ;) I see you got your Kacheek to level 50. That's great! Though judging by your HP, you'll need to train a few more levels to be able to train your Strength and Defense. But only like 5-7 levels really to get in the clear. If you battle in the BD every day, you should get a really good number of regular codestones to help with your training costs too. :) Good luck! tammyisbored
Those ability guides are great! Thank you :) I'm not quite committed enough to neo to buy NC yet haha but maybe someday, we'll see. I'm really unimpressed with the new BD system but at least it gives me codestones lol do you know if the chance for codestones is increased with different opponents? Or is it random for anyone you battle?
Aquamentis12
Sure, that's just the only way I know of to speed up training times. I agree it can take a very long time depending on what training level you are on. All opponents seem to give out codestones, and the NEW weak bottled faeries, though when i was testing for treasures, Tekkitu the Witch Doctor, and Plumbeard, refused to give out any Zed Codestones, but all the others were awarded. I hear that the Koi Warrior is preferred by a LOT of users for the codestones. And he's pretty easy to beat. Here is his profile... http://battlepedia.thedailyneopets.com/index.php/oneplayer/viewprofile/152/ We have profiles for all opponents, current and those from past wars here. http://battlepedia.thedailyneopets.com/index.php/oneplayer/index/ If he's not a challenger you currently have yet, the place to refresh to get him is linked there, as are his stats, weapons and prizes. As for the new BD, It IS still in the BETA mode. But yes, the prizes are nice. However I do miss things like the old abilities I had, and the stances, as well as the species level skills. Not that the skills would do me much good with my pet at his current level. But oh well. I also liked the different poses for pets in the old BD. But the graphics are nice in the new one, as are the BGs, and there's SOME animation to things at least. :) I'm glad I've been helpful. Have fun with your battles! :D
tammyisbored
Thank you so much! You've been so great :D I'll try collecting my codestones on the koi warrior from now on xP
