If you want to get NC items that are retired, you can trade for them. Usually if you can come to an agreement you can trade for other NC items you have, or if you don't have anything the person wants for them they might ask for a certain number of Mystery Capsules. 

 

Trading NC items requires special gift boxes for each individual item though, and you CANNOT trade neopoints or non-NC items for NC items.

Sometimes retired items show up in the mystery capsules and they call them retired mystery box capsules (or something along those lines) to let you know. However, this is not the best way to get a specific item. Even if a mystery capsule that may contain the item is made, there is no guarantee when or if you're going to get that item. I'm not too big on trading so I spent 30 dollars to get the skating bruce, this was quite a splurge for me, haha. Anyway, just another possible option for the future.

Thanks for linking that trade guide! I too want basically any and all baby items... I have a ridiculous NC wishlist lol. I've never seen anything like that guide before and it will definitely be helpful!

You can use Dress to Impress to find users who have the item up for trade and try contacting them with an offer. I usually use this page to see how much an item is worth.
