what happened to neopet's popularity?

I'd never heard of them before signing up to Neo again recently, as they're a US company, so I'd got no preconceptions. Which I'm grateful for, I think :yes:

it just perplexes me that out of all possible options it was jumpstart who had the money to buy neopets from viacom i mean where did that money come from? have they been making strange games off the radar without me knowing?

Someone somewhere on here. . . Shane possibly? Wondered if maybe it wasn't a cash deal, more of a services rendered kind of thing? I can't remember enough of what was said ^^;
