I have tried to find the official story behind this, but not having much luck. So, what exactly happened to the habitarium? Man, that was my favorite part of neopets before my break.

 

I feel like they abandon all of their big projects. just wondering when they will officially close key quest now : /

Neopets was bought by Jump Start, and had to move servers. Maybe the servers didn't have enough room, or Habi was just too messy to bring over.

It was also made by a third party group and Viacom never bought the rights to it. This meant that TNT couldn't change the coding. With all the bugs, it was easier to drop it then move it. Plus, there were many people abusing it.

 

I'm still hoping (knock on wood) that KQ returns. KQ generates a lot more money (NC) than habi did. TNT said that they lost some big files for KQ and are working on re-creating them. That was almost a month ago, and we haven't heard anything since. I'm hoping it comes back, since it was one of my favorite features on the site.

aw. i was hoping this was a thread saying it was magickally returned. v.v o well.

 

so far as i know: tnt says it wasnt meant to be a waterfall of nps, it was third party stuff so tnt couldnt update it themselves, and supposedly it was too big? for the physical moving of the servers to tnts new home. its not returning, probably.

lol, ahhhh, me too. That is too funny. We sooooo think alike Kody. Love ya girl. I heard the same thing, it was "flooding the neopian market with too many nps." I am glad I took total advantage while it was around however. I used to play brucey b slots and black pawkeet slots and lose 30-50k nps without batting an eye, because I had the nps from habi. I would never do that now, as it takes way too long to make nps now.

me, too. i had the nps to spend, so i spent it. i think it was like in real life, if you have disposable money, you spend it, but if they raise your taxes, you keep any extra money in your pocket. losing habi wasnt exactly like having my taxes raised, but it took away all my spending money, it was like being fired. im unemployed without habi..

Ahhhh haaaaa haaaa, you just LITERALLY made me laugh out loud. My husband is going think I am more crazy than he already does. lol. Now THAT was hilarious. You are absolutely right! We got fired, now we can't go to the casino's anymore, lol. Of course we made a bundle with habi, we were the ceo's and the little larnikins, mootix, and pinchits were our employees who did all the grunt work. lol.

Yeah, the Habi was a big trouble with the transition to JumpStart, so they just dropped it (as explained above) but if you have played Habi then you can get some prizes :)
