Help! Battledome items are "stuck" on a pet

I have a Wand of Reality attached to a pet, that I wanted to battle only once. On the screen after you click "Battle!" it shows the item there, but when I click "edit items" it says nothing is attached to the pet. How do I take the item off? Ive been trying for 20 minutes now =[

Keep trying. It may just be slow to respond. Try adding another weapon etc.

 

If all else fails, try transferring your pet to a side account. It will be removed and placed in your inventory.
