pulpfreeoj
Hello there, I'm OJ and my story is probably very familiar to most of you. I played neopets as a kid back during the earlier years (maybe year five or six?) and then sort of drifted away. I made my current main 30 months ago and since then have been getting back into the swing of things, including earning many more neopoints than I ever had before (thanks, Habitarium). I don't play games or collect avatars, or play the battledome. I'm not in a guild either. In fact, I'm sort of boring. My current goals are to finish customs for my pets that I have planned out including paint (or morphing potions) and wearables (neopoints only, I bought neocash once for melting advent calendar snowball items and that was it). After that I am going to work on galleries and maybe neohomes. I probably like kougras the best (I'm a cat person, what can I say), and I love petpets and plushies and all things cute. However, my definition of cute is a bit more liberal than one might expect, and I also have a love of skulls and "spooky" things and pirates and all kinds of stuff like that. I'm a bit miffed that Ice is not a paint brush because I have no intention of messing with the lab ray because it's too expensive and too much work for unpredictable results. All of my neopets are adopted. I created an account here after making use of the Dailies page and guides/articles for a long time. I thought it would be a good idea, since I figure this place is a bit more relaxed and I'm more likely to get replies than on the neoboards. It's nice to meet you all. Shelley
Yeah, I feel like that is a very common story for most of us haha. I didn't really do much when I returned after my hiatus. All I really did was play games so I haven't really worked on too much account improvement until recently. Joining a guild really helped me get in the swing of things and sparked my avatar collecting interest. Recently I just got into battling and am working on training one of my pets. Oh, and I'm really into the "spooky"side of neo too, I have a gallery of spooky food that I'm working on. I like the customs you've been working on your pets! They're pretty neat. There's also a customization contest here on the forums *pokes button in signature*. I feel like that might interest you if you're into customizing :) Well, welcome to TDNF! This is a great community to learn and chat.
blowupthesun
Nice to meet you too! I like your goals, I don't think that's boring at all. My pets don't look that great and I haven't really had the interest in putting up the NP and time to make them look better. It'd be nice if they did though :) I do like customizing them once in a while even though I don't have very much cool stuff. I'm not in a guild either and am not big on the battledome, just never saw the appeal I guess...
pulpfreeoj
Thanks for the warm welcome! Shelley- Your maraquan kacheek is ADORABLE. I love goldfish. I've always been a little tempted to get a kacheek since they're pretty cute, but always had other pets I wanted more (plus maraquan pets are so hard to customize without neocash, just like babies and mutants, and the poor thing would look so bare next to my other pets if that was the case...). I thought about doing a gallery of spooky food as well, but I think I might narrow it down a bit so as to have a more specific goal. I might look into the forum contests, possibly. Coming up with customs without the restrictions of what you can afford/what pets you have can be really nice. (Also I'd like to mention that I LOVE your neopets username, it made me crack up.) blowupthesun, I think your pets are cute! Definitely unique. They have a lot of potential. Shelley
aw I love my little mer-cheek :D I was lucky to stumble upon a fountain faerie quest, or else I wouldn't have her. Maraquan pets ae awfully had to customize :/ I really wish there were more wearables out there for them! For that reason I couldn't see myself having another pet that's so restricted when it comes to customization. I'm getting to the point now where I'm getting to the expensive spooky foods for my gallery, arg. I can't wait to see when you've started your own spooky gallery!! :D haha and thanks XD I thought I was so punny when I made this account :nerd: you're username is also pretty fantastic, only the best OJ is pulp free! WhiteWolf
Nice to meet you, OJ. I've been on Neopets for a long time. Faerieland was still in the sky when I started this account. I adopted a beautiful chocolate Kougra and a speckled Lupe here. It seems I have at least one adopted pet on every account. Don't worry about your definition of cute. Like you, my definition of beautiful is more liberal than the norm. It comes from working with wildlife, and seeing a lot of snakes. I consider a Burmese python with a great pattern and dark coloring "gorgeous".
pulpfreeoj
Ah yes, that's probably where a lot of my strange ideas of beauty come from as well. I was always a fan of the more "uncuddly" forms of life, like molluscs and fish and reptiles and insects. (Hence one of the reasons I have a Hissi.) I'm super jealous of your chocolate kougra! She's so cute. That's another color I wish was a paint brush. Faerieland suddenly being earthbound was definitely an adjustment, though now I just wish I had been around for the plot. teeniem55
Welcome back! Isn't Habitarium the best for getting NPs? So much easier that playing some of the games, which I find to be tedious and not worth the effort sometimes. I'm pretty boring on Neo, too. Though I've just decided that I want to get the Mewclops avi, so I'm going to save the 12mil for the lending chain, then spend it all on my Strawberry gallery.... If I don't spend it all before then. Hahaha. Good luck!
pulpfreeoj
Thanks for saying hello teenie! Oh yes, habitarium was like the answer to my prayers (especially once I reached level 50 haha). That's a great goal! I always wanted a meowclops wayyyyy back when I first played neopets, but I've pretty much given up on that since coming back. Maybe some day I'll be able to buy one for myself, haha. And I LOVE your strawberry gallery, absolutely too adorable!
