to sell or not to sell...

So I've been hoarding all the prizes from the last GMC (including all the end prizes woo Team Moon!) as well as most of the advent calendar stuff... do I sell them now or continue to hoard them?

This is the first time in my neopets history that I haven't sold everything straightaway.. would just like some tips from more experienced people

Thanks all

I agree with hrtbrk- Advent Calendar stuff is basically worthless. The only real caveats are books, since they're one use only, and usually in high demand. But, it takes several years for them to really get valuable. A Booktastic Book Advent Calendar prize from (I think) 8 years ago is only about 50k, and Booktastic Books are often more expensive than regular books, due to the relative ease of the Booktastic Books trophy.

So, it really is up to you. But chances are, most of the stuff you're holding on to won't gain any value any time soon.

super helpful! But what about the GMC prizes, I went on the trading post and some of the stuff was being sold for millions (mostly the end prizes) but there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest...

It does depend on the prize. Wearables that came from harder challenges (and actually look nice ;)) will be worth more (I think the Shooting Star BG is about 30k), and things like the Scarab will be relatively easy to sell and will go for a fair chunk of change! The easier to get end prizes are probably on the shop wizard though, since people who did fewer challenges didn't get different prizes, just less of them.

There isn't the same massive rush to get prizes like the Scarab, as there was just after it was released, but that may be something you will want to hold on to. If -and it is a BIG if- TNT decides to make avatars for the other stamp pages, the Day and Night Scarab is the ONLY one that doesn't restock. It'll shoot up in price drastically, and it'll be a sellers market for it.

But, as I said, TNT has made zero noise about further stamp avatars, so you may hold onto it indefinitely if you wait for that.

Another thing you could do is advertise your scarab around stamp collectors boards, and see how much interest, if any, there is. :)
