Help with Stealing, Please

I'm pretty new to battling (especially in the Beta Battledome), and I think I might be missing something obvious. I have a Baby Shoyru equipped with a Shoyru Grappling Hook, but when I use it in battle it never actually steals anything.

 

I can see in the combat log when it says it's successful (and when it misses) — but even when it claims to have taken something, I never get anything from my opponent. The grappling hook otherwise seems to work normally, in that I can't use it after a "steal" for the rest of the battle.... What am I missing? Why no items? :guiltysmiley:

My friend told me that stealers were disabled in previous wars/plots. I just tried my heavy robe of thieving, and like yours, it said I stole something, but nothing showed up. I think they're disabled. You may as well put it in your SDB for now and use the slot for something that will actually work in battle.

Finn, it was telling me it had successfully stolen — I just wasn't actually getting anything. I guess Sinri is right... maybe they're not working. That's too bad, but thanks for the help!
