Do I need a bomb?

So I've just recently started to invest in my set. Just bought the RFFR and Kacheek Life Potion in prep for war, so not sure how they'll work out strategically. Wondering what direction I should go for my next purchase. He's obviously a lab rat, I gave up on keeping up with the level long ago, but still feed plenty of Armoured Neggs. I think I have a pretty solid starting point, just hoping some one might have some insight on where to go next.

Never really do 2p battle, just looking for reasonable bang for my buck for war. Budget's probably < 10 mil, but flexible. Do I really need a bomb? The rainbow clockwork grundo maybe?

Or should I focus on defense? My thinking is I've got plenty of hp + the kacheek life potion, so this isn't a huge issue. I've never been this well prepared for battle though, so not sure what to expect out of tougher opponents.

If I were you I'd either upgrade a constant or buy a gbomb. And depending on fluctuation in prices of codestones, you might be able to just train your level to 250 and get cheaper prices per stat at the Ninja Training School.

I really don't recommend training right now for you Ktmc, your stats look good and you should do fine in the plot with the right weapons. Training right now is insane. For just 3 codestones I"m looking at 15-20k a session, depending on which ones the school gives. With the inflation it's absolutely ridiculous.

If you're not looking to spend 7.5 mill on a Bomb, you can always get a Honey Potion for I think around 500k (last time I checked). I have a Honey Potion and I absolutely love it. One of these days I will upgrade to a GBomb, but for now my Honey Potion does just fine.

My issue with training is more the time until I see results. I need like 150 more levels before I can train anything else, that's gonna take a few months. I'm gonna stick with labbing and neggs for now. I get enough from Key Quest anyways...

Is the g'bomb really worth several times the clockwork grundo?

Any recommendations for stronger constants? There's so many things out there, I'm not really sure what I need. Don't have much strategy other than more icons is good...

If you're labbing your pet then I recommend keep labbing and nevermind the training. It will take you ages to even out your stats.

I'd maybe ditch your Scarab ring and upgrade that one to a Honey Potion or the Clockwork Grundo. Check our Battlepedia and see which one deals more icons and what you'd prefer.

Ylanas Blaster is pretty good and I love mine.

I'm not sure if this would be an improvement or not but I have a scroll of knowledge as well as a Hanso Charisma Charm. I'd check the icons on your current weapons in our Battlepedia and it will tell you what's recommended for upgrades and what's considered a downgrade.

Hey there! Your pets stats are pretty alright. And you'll do great in a plot. Eventually, you're gonna want to upgrade your defense to a 250 boost. But right now, if it's too much of a hassle, it's alright if you don't train yet in schools. I think it's right of you to Negg him if you have lots of money :)

I urge you to keep your Randomly Firing Freeze Ray and Kacheek Life Potion. Get a Downsize! which blocks 50% of all icons in one turn.

For the other stuff, store the Rusty Lampost, Ridiculously Heavy Battle Hammer and Scarab Ring in your SDB or sell them.

You may buy a Sophies Magic Hat to alternate with your Leaf Shield. Ultimately, I recommend you have both in handy so you could switch around. Royal Blue Cape is also a nice shield.

You have Ylanas Blaster and Wand of Reality which are pretty good if you ask me. You have a high strength boost and nice constants, you'll do fine. I do suggest you sell one of them to get another weapon though. You can get a Skarls Hasty Mace (minimum of 8 Earth + 5 Air to a maximum of 18 Earth + 11 Air)which is one of my favorite weapons personally and can be bought at the Hidden Tower for 7 million neopoints (I think I bought one on a previous account for 6.4-6.5 mil) . Another nice weapon to upgrade to is Kelpbeards Trident (minimum 11.25 Water + 5 Physical to maximum of 19 Water + 5 Physical) which is 9 million neopoints in the Hidden Tower (you can buy one for around 8.4 mil, I think) . You can also go for the Anagram Swords, along with other suggested weapons which can be found here: http://battlepedia.thedailyneopets.com/index.php/articles/viewarticle/basic-weapon-sets/ The link is super helpful and the Battlepedia is probably where I learned most of what I know :D

The reason I'm suggesting upgrade of constants is that I feel that you'll do more damage with constants than with a bomb, since it's consistent damage and not just one time damage. But if you have the money to buy both the constants and a bomb, then definitely go for the AMAZING and BLINDING Ghostkerbomb. Nothing, I believe, is an upgrade (apart from the EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE AND RARE Moehog Skull but it's considered a Freezer most of the time XD)

Good luck! :D

I was looking at Kelpbeard's Trident and the Anagram Swords. Is there any that's better than the others? Or would match my current set better?

Also, I think you guys should seriously reconsider your stance on negg training. Whether it's worthwhile is highly dependent on how high you plan to train.

To up to the Secret Ninja School from 125 would cost:

125-150 : 6 *25 =150 codestones

151-200: 7*50=350

200-250: 8*50=400

That's 900 codestones needed. Even if you just pay 4k per codestone, you've spent 3.6 million just on increasing your level and haven't improved your battle stats at all. Once you get to the secret ninja school, I'd need 14 defense points. Let's call that another 14*8k=112,000. But oh wait, I still have to keep training my level up to 1/3 my hp. That's 20 more for another 160k. And I forgot, it will take 112 days of training non stop to get to that level 250.

So I'm at 3.87 mil to get to the 250 boost using codestones, and 14*35k=490k to get there only using with Armoured Neggs. In fact, the two don't even out until you've gotten above 375 in defense.

While I know this is simplifying and ignoring also training strength, codestone training doesn't make sense for everybody.

There are other alternatives. But as I've told others, those weapons are currently the best in their price class. Not only are they consistent, but they're also at a stable price since they're in the hidden tower. There are other weapons that are less powerful, rarer and more expensive. So I do suggest you go for those items.

But it entirely depends on your budget, once again. If you have a few hundred million neopoints, I could suggest other weapons for you if you'd like :)

That's actually true. But people have their preferences. So yeah XD

General, you seem to know your stuff. I wish I had several million to spend,.. I can't help but think these weapons would be cheaper if only high value trades were easier to make. The 800k cap sucks.

Back to the topic, what I was looking for more is advice on which of those is a better choice. I'm not sure if there's any particular icon I should be looking for based on my other weapons or what 1p characters usually use.

Thank you very much :) I try XDDDD I wish I just had a million =))) Lost my account. But yeah. It's alright. True! It's alright though. League battles are pretty much non-existent now because lots of them dislike (extremely) the new BD.

Well, as Lamppost and Aquamentis12 said to me before, it is entirely depending on who you're gonna battle. Most of them are equal in power, they just vary in icons, price and opponent.

Well, I've said this on other boards, the best combination of shields-reflectors would be Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield-Clawed Shield combo. Covers every icon and reflects back Sword of Reif's fire back at the opponent.

Right now, for most 1p characters, a Kelpbeards Trident-Sword of Skardsen combination will pretty much decimate them. For others dual Pirate Captains Cutlass would pretty much dissolve their defenses into obsolete specks of dust XD

But personally, I recommend Kelpbeards Trident-Sword of Skardsen, Sword of Reif-Sword of Ari, Pirate Captains Cutlass x2, Sword of Reif-Sword of Skardsen (I noticed that whatever combination of items, you can never fully block either of the two) :) Entirely up to you. Some choose to go buy multiple anagram swords so they can switch around.

But cheapest combination (yet still highly effective) is Kelpbeards Trident + Skarls Hasty Mace :) The mace is less consistent though and can be replaced by Sword of Skardsen.

I read in a review on the TDN's Battlepedia that you can pair up Portable Cloud + Pirate Captains Cutlass + Lenny Chatter + Berserk = SO MUCH AIR & LIGHT =))))

If you're trying to choose between Kelpbeards Trident and an anagram sword, I'm partial to KBT. It's a little cheaper than the anagram swords (at least usually, not sure about now with plot inflation) and it does the same number of icons on average. It kind of depends on what type of icon you want to do, though. If you favor one icon type, get that anagram sword, unless it's water, in which case get a KBT.
