I thought maybe I missed a random event somewhere when my lupe came down with Neowarts. I had just finished a battle (one where it was a draw). I was fighting Valin in the ice arena and after the draw, I noticed IcyBlueQuartz came down with neowarts. So I healed him and then challenged Valin again - beat him this time. IcyBlueQuartz is sick with Neowarts again.

Can your pets get sick from battling? I checked the beta news page and didn't see anything about pets getting sick on this. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing.

I believe it's a weapon that Valin uses. My pet got sick whenever I fought him, so I quit fighting him, and I haven't had my pet get sick again.

Yup...Valin uses the Poison Tipped Dagger. It will make your pet sick. I've given up battling him for the same reason.

Ah, I didn't know that... Thank you! I'm not going to battle him again. Can any of the other challengers make your neopet sick or is it just Valin?

The Slug Monster also gives your pet a disease (onion balm to cure your pet or the healing springs)

I think it's the reverse. Your pet needs a particular disease to get Meuka as a Challenger. I don't remember getting Drago_Boss' sick after my fights against Meuka

Others are right; it's a particular weapon that Valin uses. You can view it at the Battlepedia here: http://battlepedia.t...n/viewweap/2008

You can also view all of the secret challengers here: http://battlepedia.t...neplayer/index/

If you click on each one, it has a list of weapons, and you can click on the weapons to see their attacks, defenses, or any special properties. I see that the Slug Monster uses Vile Swamp Water (http://battlepedia.t...n/viewweap/1676), which infects your pet with Watery Eyes. It's used by a few other, non-active challengers, too. I don't see any of Meuka's weapons that cause diseases, but it's true that you need to have a pet with Sneezles or NeoFlu to gain him as a challenger.

I don't know of any other challengers who cause infections, off-hand, but you can check for yourself.

I had the same thing happen with Valin, it took me about 3 times before I learned my lesson. Thanks for clarifying that it's actually a weapon and not the challenger himself.
