Linking to TDN from a petpage?

Today I was trying to link to TDN from a guide on one of my petpages:

http://www.neopets.c...emilee_the_best

I thought this was now ok, but maybe it's not - do tell me if so.

I put in the HTML correctly, ( <a href= "thedailyneopets.com">TDN</a> ) and when I clicked the 'Preview Changes' button the link worked fine. It came up with the 'Heads up! You are now leaving Neopia' warning, and when I clicked 'Yes' it took me to TDN.

However, when I clicked save, and went back onto the page, the link didn't work. I looked back at the code and it had been changed to:

<a href="http://www.neopets.com/redirect /fansite.phtml?r=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.the dailyneopets.com" class="auto_bumper">TDN</a>

It seems that some weird coding thing is replacing the :// with %3A%2F%2F. I've tried changing it back, but it just gets overwritten each time. If you leave out the http:// it doesn't work either :(

I've submitted a bug report, but I wondered if anyone here knows a workaround?

PS I put a couple of spaces in the html so it appears correctly

I can't really help you with this issue, but I can tell you that it's intended to be possible, as per a recent editorial:

I saw that a few sites have been added to the Certified Fan Sites, and I thought that you could talk about every site listed in the whole Fan Site stuff, but not only just the name, URLs too. For example, with regard to DTI, I put the link on a Petpage (it's not a clickable link, though) and I thought it would be okay since it's a Certified Fan Site. However, after reading the page again, it's only the Recommended Fan Sites that you can post a link to? Could you please clarify? ~alice_sadness

You're correct. Recommended Fan Sites can be linked to directly from Neopets, but Certified Fan Sites cannot. You're more than welcome to discuss the Certified Fan Sites, but they may not be linked.
