Dynohawk
NC items confuse me, I can't see this in the NCmall so I'm guessing it's retired and I can't get my hands on it? This really disappoints me :\
Rebecca~
It's a prize from the Blumaroll game, but I think it's a retired prize. :( EDIT: Yeah, long retired. It was a prize from Spring 2011. :( Sorry about that!

I agree, it's really annoying when you finally find a NC item you want, and it's been retired for ages. :/ Some things are just ridiculously expensive now. The Cape was a gold tier prize as well, so it won't be cheap to trade for, either. :(

You could go on the boards and advertise. Maybe someone has it.
hrtbrk
Actually, they probably make MORE money by retiring items because people will do customs or offer gift box caps to the 'value' of the item. The item isn't out of reach for you. Find someone who is trading and seek what they are offering. Luckily for you, GBCs are returning to the mall this week. Nataluna
its not a terribly popular item. most people value it as a 4 cap "value" and probably would discount for capsules and tokens from the mall. especially gift box capsules, which are currently in future fashions and should be out friday in the normal mall. there are also some alternatives for NP (species clothing) otherwise NC wise the dark winter hooded cape is similar and was recently re-released in the Jubjub suitcases, making it easy to find and quite cheap. good luck finding it! While you are absolutely right that he's able to still get the item through other means, I do think it's a little disappointing that it has to be done this way. When I got my first NC mall card I was really excited, only to discover that all of the pretty and interesting things I want to purchase were no longer in the mall. I understand that (as previously pointed out) they make money because people buy to trade, etc, but if everything just stayed in the mall, they'd still be making money. I wish the NC mall items were no different than neopoints items, in the sense that once they were released, they were always obtainable (for the most part). I think if you're spending the money on the website, you should be able to buy exactly what you like! :(
