Ashbash
So as some of you probably know, I'm on vacation in Disney World right now. I'm currently in my room surfing the internet because my mom isn't feeling well and it's just the two of us so I'd rather not spend time by myself in the parks or at the pool. And I also don't want to leave her by herself when she isn't feeling well. That just seems mean. Anyways, I'm using Disney's Internet and half the sites I want to are blocked due to their content. I understand they don't want kids stumbling upon things but seriously I'm 22 and my mother is obviously older than me. There aren't any kids in the room with us. First I tried to catch up on celebrity gossip via Perez Hilton. No can do. Then I thought maybe I'd catch up on some of the tv shows I've missed while I've been here. So I went to MTV.com to watch the Real World. It let me on the site but won't let me watch the video claiming it is considered R-Rated content. They charge you to use their internet and then they don't even let you do what you want! I could see if I was trying to look at porn or something but I really don't think the sites I'm going to are all that bad. Ugh. Sorry, rant over. Luventas
First of all I think it's very nice from you to stay with your mum. Hope she gets well, soon! And yea, sometimes those blocks really annoy. Just like the filter on neopets is way to picky, so appears to be the disney internet :D
Ashbash
Thank you! Thank goodness disney is letting me on here and on neopets or I'd be bored out of my mind!
Luventas
Haha, true :D So, disney land, eh? Can you tell me a little?
Ashbash
I could tell you tons! Lol, what would you like to know? I'm at Disney World in Orlando, Florida. There are 4 main parks and 2 water parks and probably a million and one restorts lol.
Luventas
Tell. Me. Everything xD I'd love to know about the stuff you can do there and if you like it or not =) Gotta go, it's quite late. Post it, Ima reply asap :)
skylee
that is ridiculous. it's one thing if they're letting you use the internet for free. but you're paying for it AND you can't go the sites you want? thats not fair. haha! i laughed when you said perez hilton. i'm literally on that site everyday. i'd be so upset
Bubbleline
I remember going to Disney World and Orlando Studios when I was just a wee lass. Of course I didn't do anything with the internet, but I can imagine they have it censored to heck and back. That's Disney for you. (I didn't think anyone else would read Perez Hilton. He's so funny sometimes. XD)
Ashbash
I love it here. I go all the time. There are a ton of rides geared towards young kids and older as well. So basically if you like calm rides they have that, there are also some more intense rides like roller coasters and things. There are tons of shows if you like that stuff as well. The lion king show is my favorite because they have guys or flying monkeys jumping around on trampolines and doing crazy flips while other people are singing. The 4 parks all have different themes as well. One is the Animal Kingdom which is obviously animal themed and is almost like a zoo plus an amusement park. Hollywood studios revolves around movies. Epcot has a lot to do with learning about everything in general: the future, different cultures, etc. And then the magic kingdom has just everything to do with disney. There are rides and characters from just about every disney thing you could imagine. Haha glad to see some others read perez as well. I LOVE that site. I can still get it on my phone here if I really need a quick perez fix lol!
Rebecca~
Aww, I hope your mum feels better soon! :( That's just silly to have filters like that. Kids shouldn't be on the internet unsupervised anyway, so the filters shouldn't be necessary. Thank god for Neopets at least!
Ashbash
Thanks! And exactly! When I'm babysitting and the kids go on the internet I sit there and watch what sites they're going to the whole time. Grrrr.
Luventas
Sounds nice (Yes, I'm still here :D ) I really wanna go to Disney land, too, but it's too far away :/ I guess the closest is Paris
Rebecca~
Thanks! And exactly! When I'm babysitting and the kids go on the internet I sit there and watch what sites they're going to the whole time. Haliaetus
Hope your mom feels better! I hate blocks on the internet lol. I've run into that problem on several occasions. I'm so jealous you're in Disney however. I've always wanted to go, except I'm deathly afraid of airplanes so I've never been able to. :P

buzzerbumblebee
Ooooh! I'm going to FL in November for the... Harry Potter theme park YAY! Disney World is tons of fun. I heard one ride gave a pregnant woman a legit heart attack, which makes me want to go on it even more. Although I can't seem to remember which one it was. :( On a side note, I hope your mom feels better soon! ...Katie divorced Tom? I am so out of the celebrity gossip loop. Ashbash
Hahaha thanks Angelo! I was at Harry Potter my first 2 days here as well. I've been to it a couple times and it is amazing. Right now I'm just dying for them to start and finish the expansion!
buzzerbumblebee
There's going to be an expansion?! Heck, we might as well just wait for that. What are they adding?
Ashbash
Yeah although I've heard it's going to take some time. I don't know how much you know about Universal but there are 2 parks there. Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios. Islands of Adventure is home to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Over on the Universal Studios side they just got rid of their Jaws ride and all building surrounding that area and have announced that that part of that park will now be dedicated to Harry Potter. So far the only thing to be 100% confirmed for that park is platform 9 and 3/4 with a nonstop train straight to Hogwarts at the other park. There are other rumors out there such as a Diagon Alley and a Gringotts Bank Cart Ride.
buzzerbumblebee
Aw I loved the Jaws ride in Universal Studios (the tram, right?) At least the additional stuff sounds awesome, especially Diagon Alley. Oh well, a second trip to Harry Potter never hurts. :D
Zombiiesque
I'm pretty late to the party, but that's crazy that they are charging you for internet and then blocking your access to Perez! (haha, I love that site) But that's really sweet of you to stay with your mom while she's feeling bad. I haven't been to Disney World in sooo long and I'd love to go see Harry Potter, the photos look so awesome!
Haliaetus
This all sounds so awesome. I'm even more jealous now. :P The train to Hogwarts sounds so cool.

Oh well, a second trip to Harry Potter never hurts. :D Jaws was a boat ride where a shark came up and would try to get at the people on the boat. I've been on it a few times but I'm actually pretty happy to see it go. It's waaaay too scary for me lol. Disney World is expanding right now too and I want to go back when it's all done because it's looking amazing! This all sounds so awesome. I'm even more jealous now. :P The train to Hogwarts sounds so cool. Eek I know! Too bad they say it will take 3 or 4 years or so to build it all. I guess that gives me plenty of time to try and save up some money though!
