*ahem* Apologies for the disruption. Now, round three of this year's Altador Cup has just concluded in an exciting array of- *BZZT!*

EXCITING?! HAH! The only thing exciting about this is the tourism revenues Altador is making off all this crap! Watching these brain dead reports is about as exciting as watching dirt grow! And if you actually like these idiotic new bracket names, then you can kiss my- *BZZZZZZZT!*

Uh... and now for something completely different, we'll show you some kadoaties blissfully frolicking in the fields.

*ahem* Apologies once again for the interruptions, we've managed to get the signal sorted out now. Anyway, as I was saying before we were so rudely interrupted, round three of this year's tournament has just come to a close, and while the results from the last match of the round had no effect whatsoever on the final rankings, there were still plenty of tense matches played on the field yesterday.

Opening Alabriss Bracket was a match between Team Faerieland and the Mystery Island Natives. While the Natives went into the game as the clear favourites, and emerged well ahead of the Faeries on all fronts, it was by no means a clear cut match. The Faeries fought back hard, especially in Slushie Slinger, which has historically been a strength of theirs, and it was only after a day's worth of furious efforts on both sides that Mystery Island were able to come out with a sweep.

Things didn't go much differently in the remaining Alabriss Brackets, as Teams Terror Mountain and Kiko Lake, both the underdogs in their respective match-ups, also pushed especially hard in Slushie Slinger against their opponents. While neither the Chillers nor the Kikos were able to make a mark in the other sports, Terror Mountain did manage to draw even with the Meridell Knights in Slushie Slinger, and Kiko Lake managed even better against the Krawk Island Pirates, upholding their fantastic record with a Slushie Slinger win.

The pattern continued over in Vaeolus Bracket, as Teams Maraqua, Darigan Citadel and Kreludor, all of whom were out hunting for sweeps yesterday, found themselves stopped just short by the valiant efforts of their respective opponents, the Haunted Woods, Shenkuu and Roo Island. While the Shenkuu Ninjas slipped in a Slushie Slinger draw under the noses of the Citadel Minions, and the Haunted Woods repeated the feat against the Maraquans, the Rooligans decided to put a bit of a spin on things, cheering hard to end the day even with Kreludor in Make Some Noise instead.

Minitheus Bracket was where the results really started to mix and match - like the other two brackets, yesterday's Minitheus matches were fairly one-sided, but despite overall losses the Moltaran Magmas, Altador Suns and Brightvale Wizards were able to swipe a few games out from under their opponents. Facing a tournament heavyweight in the form of Team Lost Desert, Team Moltara set their sights on Shootout Showdown, adapting Faerieland's 'Post-it' scoring techniques to accommodate their own fiery twist, and blazing a trail to victory despite their losses in the other sports. Running in much the same vein as the Moltarans, Team Altador also countered a potential sweep by the Tyrannians, not only taking Shootout Showdown but also reinforcing their growing reputation as an uncrushable team with a draw in Slushie Slinger. Team Brightvale topped them both however, knocking Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown away from Virtupets for a double side game victory.

Many observers have noted that day eighteen of the tournament was particularly lacking in close fought matches, a lack probably brought on by the fact that few teams were playing at anywhere close to full capacity. While the exact cause of this lull is a matter of considerable speculation, rumour has it that the vast majority of tournament contenders have chosen to conserve their strength for the opening match of the upcoming round.

And that round starts today! With cycled brackets and new goals to pursue, all eighteen teams are rolling into round four with a fresh burst of enthusiasm - and Team Terror Mountain will need that boost. Right off the bat, Alabriss Bracket has placed the Chillers up against top trio newcomers Team Meridell for the second day in a row, a daunting prospect for any team. Things aren't looking much easier for teams Faerieland and Moltara, who will be tested to their limits against the Virtupets Robots and the Haunted Woods Zombies respectively.

Contenders in Minitheus Bracket are in for some serious fun and games as well. The Shenkuu Ninjas face quite a challenge in the form of the Mystery Island Natives, almost undefeated so far in the tournament. The Lost Desert—Kiko Lake and Brightvale—Roo Island pairings look like they'll be even more intense, with evenly matched teams readying themselves for that final push to glory.

It's Vaeolus Bracket that's looking most intense of all however, to the point where it's earned itself the nickname 'Bracket of Death'. With one tournament leader, one former top trio contender, one top trio hopeful, and one inconsistently top-level team all crammed into one set of matches, this bracket will certainly be quite the ride. Kicking things off at full throttle, top seated Team Kreludor will face off against the Tyrannian Fossils, perhaps best known for their upset victory over Mystery Island in round two. Meanwhile, old war rivals Maraqua and Krawk Island will play their second match of the season, and the Altador Suns go head-to-head with the shadowy Darigan Citadel.

Best of luck everyone! This is AA, reporting for The Daily Neopets, signing off.

You know, for all of the good intentions TNT had for randomizing the brackets, I'm looking back and seeing that I probably would have been a lot happier if they handpicked the brackets or placed them with respect to rankings, or SOMETHING that was related to the skill of the team.

Well, either way there's only one round to go!

I think Meridell got the easiest bracket ever, the 2nd best team is Haunted Woods ranked tied for 10th. And I don't even get why they are ranked 10th considering they got crushed by lower ranked Roo Island twice and should have finished last in that bracket. Shenkuu was better than them.

Can't wait for the end of this year, I hope they ask for feedback again.

Thanks for saying that Shenkuu is better than HW. It's been a though year for us but that was something that actually made me happy.

On another note, I am also hoping that TNT asks for feedbacks.
